I wouldn't like a multi-year deal with Keith Smart...Interesting move how the W's decided to make this move with media day this Tuesday. I am excited for this season, even if they do suck.

hooray for change, but im still gonna clap for him for the first 2 years. shame he didn't get to coach that playoff squad for a full year.

I had talked to a few players earlier this summer about whether they wanted to leave. They all said they’d rather Don Nelson to be back, but if the team went a different direction, their vote was for Keith Smart.
Certainly, Smart has the support in the locker room. And he makes the most sense because of the timing. He has already already prepped for training camp (he and Stephen Silas did on their own) and he already has a rapport with the players. He has been groomed by Nelson, in Nelson’s system. Also, he’s young enough and inexperienced enough to allow the Warriors to put him on a trial basis.
But is he the guy for the future?
Smart has at least earned a shot tyo prove it. He’s been the model assistant for six years now. He’s been doing more than most any assistant coach in the league – running practices, orchestrating the defense, putting out Nellie fires — in addition to his regular game duties.
Plus, Smart is hardly too expensive to replace. Owner Joe Lacob said he had a “multi-year arrangement.

Sorry for the delay Paul. Im down to play for money. Might have to arrange some sort of money transfer to you because I dont do paypal, but I am down for sure.
Just a sidenote, I dont have a problem giving prize money to 3rd place, but with a ten dollar buy in, paying out 3 places kind of limits how much the winner will get. If the buy in is 20, then sure....but 10 is kinda silly to pay 3rd IMO.
But of course, I will go with the majority.

Yeah, $10 is a reasonable amount. Especially if this is the 1st time we're doing this. I don't remember, but did you guys end up turning the football league into a money league (I think it was last year)?

A multi-year deal for Smart? Eh..I was hoping for him to just coach this season while the new owners look for a new coach to hire for the 2011-12 season.
If true, I hope Lacob and Gruber shape this team into a decent/good team by the time Smart's deal is over in order to attract coaches like JVG, etc

I'm not that worried about Smart coaching. Especially after MT stated that he had the ability to go back to being an assistant. That leaves us with a way out if someone like Van Gundy were to express interest coaching again.
