Official Warriors Season Thread

Screw Utah.

if toronto is shopping dixon or kapono i'd love to have either on the warriors. for kapono a pietrus/perovic would work, but i'm not sure how hightoronto is on kapono. and if getting kapono messes up with our plans on extending andris, monta, and maybe baron then i'd pass. for dixon a pietrus fordixon/darrick martin would work and i'd take it. both of them are expirings too.

Very unrelated but I traded sarunas for kapono in 2k8 and kapono is a beast.

. if we can get him that'd be cool but that doesn't make sense fortoronto to trade him.i'd assume they're sort of high on him

Kapono is garbage though. Dude is averaging a shade over 8 points a game and doesn't play a lick of defense. He'd be on the floor for 20+ minutes andgrab one rebound. It'll hurt watching this kid play at the Warriors' pace.

Dixon is ehh ... He's not really what this team is lacking.

True, but isn't Korver kind of the same thing? And look what he did for the Jazz so far...we shoot a lot of 3's and none of our players areparticularly great at the 3 other than arguably Al.

The Jazz and the Warriors are two different teams. Case in point - tonight's butt whooping.

Utah has the luxury to have one of their players float on the perimeter while the others bang inside. Matter of fact, that's even beneficial because itspreads the court. The Warriors already are spread out and need their help inside.

And this is hard to explain, but Kapono and Korver are the types of players that thrive against undiciplined teams like the Warriors who can't identifyshooters thus leaving them wide open. We as Warrior fans see these guys play lights out and think they'll bring that to the table each and every night. Butin reality, if these shooters have someone in their face, they won't be knocking down their shots with the same consistency.

Yea I know the JAzz/Warriors are two different teams and it is pretty obvious, but I was just saying that a great shooter CAN have a big impact on a team. Weget some great looks at the 3 point line, and why wouldn't u want Kapono out there taking them? I don't think he would really make us that much better, but he would definitely improve our 3 pt% and we take a lot. If we just need to give up Pietrus to get him, why not? But I think his contract sucks(Kapono's) so I think this is all a moot point, since I'd rather have the $ to lock up Monta/Andris

Like, we definitely have bigger priorities than shooters. But if we're just looking to move Pietrus around, anybody that can have a positive effect on ourteam works for me.

we don't really need these "shooter" types in my opinion. What we need to do is start attacking the basket more.. if the warriors would just do apump-fake at the 3pt-line and drive it in for a layup or something in the low post, we'd be much more efficient on offence. more ball movement, lessjacking up shots. maybe this goes against nelson's offensive scheme, but whatever utah did to us tonight they did at will.

Just go back to your Celtics Season Thread, you've obviously never seen a Warriors game this season and don't know what you're talking about.

I don't think that Peitrus will be moved. That punk isn't even doing anything to up his stock. Good game from Webber minus the free throw misses. Wecan beat the Celtics.

we don't need more shooters. we need a big man that can actually score in the post. we are rumored to be going after J.O. and I like the idea. we won'tmake the playoffs playing small, its not gonna happen.

say we do go for JO....and it involves us giving up biedrins/ al/ bw as one of the key players. How would you feel about it?

Not a chance. I wouldn't even want O'neal. He is washed up and overpaid. The Warriors aren't going to win anything this year anyways withall the other teams going for broke, so they might as well keep the future intact.

He did specify that this didn't come from Mullin directly, but just that it has been swirling around the office. And it works salary-wise.

Just passing on the info, so don't go crazy on me.

no on Kapono. he will only take shots away from JACK.

and no on JO. dude is hurt and really likes playing in a half court set. not a warriors pace

they still need to move pietrus at this point for anything like a late rd draft pick and/or a cheap flyer on a player that will not be committed on the booksfor long.
