It's what we're giving up for Brand. Belinelii, Wright, Mickael, Harrington? That's too much IMO. To get Jermaine, it'll ONLY cost us Mickael, O'Bryant, and T.E.

First of all, how do you know the Pacers will take that garbage for O'Neal?

Second, why not offer more and get quality in return? If you're going to deal, might as well do it right. But who even brought Brand's name into this discussion? Is he even on the trading block?

do we clearly not remember dealing away dunmurphy?

to me, elton brand is untradeable. i don't think the clip will part with him, especially to oakland. but i'd give up harrington in a heartbeat forbrand. brand brings the intensity we need as a low post threat, interior defender, and all around big man play. let's not forget that he has a goodmid-range shot as well. harrington takes 3s, can't finish in the lane, and is a softy on D.

According to ESPN there was rumor that Chris Mullin was considering sending Harrington, Pietrus, Patrick O'Bryant and the trade exception to Indiana for Jermaine O'Neal.
I like Al, but he is a terrible defender. The writer says the trade is crazy for the Warriors, but I think Mullin should do it. We all know howwell players play for a team that sucks, maybe O'Neal will have a resurgence in Oakland.

I will NEVER let that go. Ya'll are crazy to defend this scrub.

You think the Warriors will make a trade in the next 16-17 hours?

Lastyears trade came out of no where

The Sports Guy did a column of trades he wished teams would make and had the Warriors getting Kirilenko and Artest in different "what if" deals.

no one is defending him recently.

i will be the first to apologize because he has been just full of SUCK lately and i hate it when he's in. i backed him up before because he did lose hismother and i knew it was affecting his play, and it still is. as much as i want him to pick it up, just doesn't seem like he's going to.

oh, and pietrus played pretty well tonight (with the exception of a few bonehead plays, but i think we've all grown accustomed to that by now right?). hisD on pierce throughout the game was on point. came up with some pretty big stops.

if pietrus does get traded...i believe that'll be the end of players during the Gary St. Jean era...

I been thinking the past few days how we need to get rid of Harrington. He is a one-dimensional player....really though, what does he do besides shoot the ballgood for a tall player? We automatically think he's better than he is just because he's mobile and can shoot for a big-man, but forget that hedoesn't do the other things that big-men are supposed to do. He has no post game, and 5 rebounds per game for his height and athleticism is a joke. I woulddo that Brand trade in a heartbeat.

BTW, what is Brand's status? I saw him at the Jigga concert in Hollywood back in November...has he played at all this year? When is he supposed to playagain?

Bittersweet - If W's lose Harrington, we lose the ENERGY & EMOTION he brings. As much as his performance lacks sometimes, he is always jumping all overthe place after a charge, etc. But, if we can get Elton Brand, I would do that in a heartbeat, as long as we don't give up too much.

If the Clippers were willing to trade Brand and get draft picks/young players, you'd also be hearing Sam Cassell and Tim Thomas rumors.

Cassell is an expiring contract worth $6 million and Thomas is a horrible contract that's hurting the Clips. None of this is happening however so Brand isstaying.

Warriors notes: Nelson ready to draw, or stand pat at trade deadline

Janny Hu, Chronicle Staff Writer

(02-20) 22:57 PST -- By noon today, Warriors coach Don Nelson will know exactly which players he'll have for his postseason push. And if Golden State is unable to upgrade its roster before the trade deadline, so be it.

"I wouldn't be unhappy," Nelson said before Wednesday's game against Boston. "I think I'm content enough to move ahead with what we have."

That doesn't mean the Warriors have been idle in trade talks, however.

Golden State is still looking to move disgruntled forward Mickael Pietrus, but its parameters remain the same: The Warriors want a rotational player in return, and specifically one without a long-term contract as the team plans to re-sign Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins this summer.

The Warriors would consider taking on a hefty contract only if it involves adding a top-tier player such as Elton Brand or Jermaine O'Neal, but those scenarios do not appear likely.

If the Warriors do make a move, Nelson does not expect any of his rookies to be in play.

"We like what we did last year in the draft, and the fact that they're not ready to help us this year doesn't mean they're not going to be a big part of our future. They are. We like them very much," Nelson said.

"We're trying to have our cake and eat it, too. We're trying to get in and have those guys get a year under their belt and be contributors next year."

As for Pietrus, who started Wednesday in place of injured Stephen Jackson, Nelson said it wouldn't be a problem if Pietrus remains with the Warriors for the rest of the season.

"That's not easy to coach a guy (who's) not happy and wants to be moved, but I've certainly done it before and I can do it again if nothing works out," he said.

Said Pietrus: "What can I say? I don't have any control of anything. I don't have control of playing time, anything. The only thing I have is when they call my name, be the best for the team."
pietrus sure knows how to handle the situation. he always says the right thing...well we'll find out tmr if he gets traded.
