my Oranje army ready to lock down Forlan tomorrow. Cripple that Uruguay attack more and see them evaporate in the air.
Although Uruguay will be missing Suarez tomorrow, it`s important to note the Netherlands will be missing two key players in Van Bommell and van der Wiel. The Netherlands are obviously favorites but I think it`ll be a close and low scoring match with the Netherlands prevailing. Lets see if van Persie can finally get out of his funk.
with Sneijder and Robben looking to feast, I'm not worried about Van Persie being non existent.

Bring on Huntelaar like the last game if he doesn't look too aggressive at the front end.

my 2010 WC has been excellent

I would really like to know, if Argentina blames Maradonna or the players for the defeat.

.
True but when you're a favorite in the WC and expectations are high even a qf exit is a disappointment......look at Brazil, they're pretty upset over their team

Who cares? If they want to receive the team with a hero's welcome with almost as many people as goals they conceded against Germany, let them. Good for them. Noone else cares. Why is this even a story?

What do I have to be mad about? I don't really care much about Argentina to have either positive or negative feelings towards them. They were a huge disappointment though. The only ones who are mad are Argentinians who try to suppress the magnitude of how mad they are and desperately trying to look like they're not mad by pretending that they really are proud of this team. You're not fooling anyone, just so you know. They can go after Copa America though, no Germany to own them there.

Or maybe another Olympic gold medal.

Argentinians are not trying to "fool" anyone or "suppress" or hide their feelings of disappointment. But unlike the fans of other countries (England being the most obvious example). who have repeatedly and publicly bashed their teams, the Argentinians seem to by and large stand by stand by theirs even after an unexpectedly early exit.

I don't see how this can be viewed negatively. They have chosen to be supportive fans even when things didn't go as well as they had hoped. "Pretending they are really proud of their team?" What a ridiculous assertion.....what makes you say that? As far as I'm concerned their support is nothing but genuine, and I'm sure the Argentine football team is grateful for this.

P.S. he's a good player and i like the oranje.....but robben is an unbelievable flopping !++%%. that brazil game he was all over the ground whenever someone breathed on him.

Prediction:

Uruguay 1 - 3 Netherlands

I really want Uruguay to win but without Luis Suarez, I don't think they'll make it.

Yes Robben is a flopper but that shouldnt over shadow the fact that he is an excellent player (when healthy). I think he over-flopped against Brazil because Bastos was all over him and Robben had to get the referee's attention some how. Another possible reason is that Robben is injury prone and doesnt like contact so he may have been flopping to get some protection from the ref. Robben is well known for hating contact...he got into a fight with his Bayern Munich teammate Phillip Lahm a few months ago after Lahm tackled him during practice

Netherlands vs. Uruguay

Netherlands winning 2-0 unless their cockiness gets the best of them. Coach van Warijk said he spoke to his team about this so we have to see what happens.

Spain vs. Germany

I have Spain winning 1-0

Here we go y'all...

Either Uruguay get back to the finals for the first time since 1950 or Netherlands get back for the first time since 1978.
Octopus oracle shows Germany the red card
The eight-legged oracle has spoken: Paul the octopus says Spain will sink three-time champion Germany in their World Cup semifinal.

The floppy football (soccer) fan from Oberhausen's Sea Life Aquarium on Tuesday chose a mussel from a glass tank marked with a Spanish flag and ignored a tank emblazoned with Germany's colors, spokesman Daniel Fey said.

But there could still be hope for the Germans

The only time the usually-prescient Paul has erred in the past was ahead of the Germany-Spain final at the 2008 European Championship. Paul picked Germany; Spain prevailed 1-0.

"Paul has decided that Spain will win," Fey said in a phone interview. "But - and that's a big but - Paul got it wrong only one time and that was also a game between Germany and Spain, therefore we think he just simply can't get it right when it comes to this combination."

Amid intense anticipation of Wednesday's game, the eight-legged expert's pick was even carried live by two national all-news television stations.

Paul, a two-year-old British born octopus with a purple-yellowish complexion and hundreds of suckers, wrapped himself around a pole between the two tanks, occasionally extending several of his eight legs toward the German glass before moving his whole body onto the Spanish side.

"Once he sat on top of the Spanish glass, he opened the lid with one tentacle and grabbed the mussel with another one," Fey said.

He added that analysts are still pondering whether Paul's forecasts on games between Germany and Spain may have to do with a potential case of color blindness - the German tricolor of black, red and yellow may be hard to distinguish from the red-yellow-red stripes of Spain

Paul's record at this World Cup has been flawless so far. In the first round of play, he correctly predicted German victories over Australia and Ghana and the country's loss to Serbia.

England and Argentina then produced invertebrate performances in the next two rounds to match Paul's predictions that Germany would win.

If Germany wins the semifinal despite Paul's prediction, the octopus will be allowed to predict the outcome of Sunday's final as well, Fey said.

Now it's up to seafood-crazy Spain to prove him right.
