I put a ton of time into Overwatch 1 but the way they did the release for 2 turned me away from playing it after a day or 2.
I have a friend that's still been playing that's been trying to get me back on it

CoD is slowly becoming that you can’t carry a team of trash players to victory anymore due to sbmm.

before i would drop 70+ kills easily and win carry my team to the W but now it’s damn near impossible.

Same here. I've been watching this and metal gear for a good deal. I usually buy my games from target and it was so odd I couldn't find physical copies of robocop or mgs for xbox. It took a while for them to show up on Amazon.

As someone who played literally more than 10k matches of Halo 3, I think you could probably apply this to any videogame.
The biggest loudmouths and toxic players tended to be garbage at the game. You see it in fighting games too, I'd say that's where it's most noticeable. The absolute worst bottom of the barrel players in Mortal Kombat spew more rage and racial slurs than any other skill tier.

I had a variety of friends I played with on Halo 3, and obviously when playing with a woman the harassment is largely directed at her.
A far superior player roasting them generally didn't have much impact, if any at all, if the trashtalker was on the opposing team. Best you could hope for was to talk as much trash as you can in proximity chat and make their k/d's go as negative as possible.
I played a lot of 8v8 Big Team Battle with some of the best in that playlist, and something we often did when facing trashtalkers was to deliberately drag out an objective game (not scoring the third flag in CTF for example) so we could all run up our k/d's and endlessly spawntrap them until the timer ran out.
There were matches where the trash on the other team would end up going -57 or something due to deliberately dragging out the objective.

If the trash talk was coming from a teammate however, they were far more likely to submit or at least tone it down.
I or the generally far better players I played with would usually say something along the lines of 'shut the **** up and focus, we'd be doing better if your trash *** wasn't distracted so much because a woman talked to you for the first time in years.'
Didn't always work but it'd often at least tone down the harassment. Getting someone on the opposing team to stop harassing a woman on your team is a complete lost cause though.
I don't think I've ever seen that have any effect. What you should do in that situation is as I described above: dominate them as hard as you can and extend their suffering as long as possible so you can deliver maximum punishment to their stats. Think of what players find most annoying and also apply that to your gameplan, for example shotgun camping.
