Nuttin much to speak of..no kob' rehab updates. Lamar still Lamaring. Lv summer league a faded memory. Roster spots pretty much occupied cept for the chair ebanks used to occupy.

Kurt Rambis back in LA as an assistant coach. Just announced it on his Twitter.

I'll be curious if he can lead the defense like he did his last season with Phil. Probably not given the personnel.

Not the most exciting news...

And if he was the one who was leading our 'defense' in that last season with Phil...it just makes the news even more insignificant.

cant blame it on the coaching staff, the team was just lethargic. its not like much changed during that time, it was all effort, team just didnt perform.

blame it on complacency or whatever.

In that case then coaches should never be held accountable for anything.

Of course players are at fault.
But coaches are there to motivate and "coach."

If an entire 12 man roster is lethargic and lazy how does that reflect on the leadership and motivation tactics of the coaching?

It's 50/50. Players play. Coaches coach.
Both have to be in sync in order to have a successful team.

And Rambis wasn't exactly the most inspiring coach in Minnesota either. Yeah I know, they had a weak roster...garbage obviously. But there's a reason why he was fired so quickly. He's never been the best at motivating talent...or coaching, for that matter.

Thus why he couldn't do jack **** with Kobe and Shaq as a head coach before Phil got hired in 1999.

Call me crazy if you want but he's not the most impressive "hiring" of the off-season. Looking more forward to seeing our younger players like Kelly, Johnson and Harris develop than seeing Rambis on the sidelines being useless.

It's very hard to hold back any further sarcastic remarks about such hirings...but to keep things positive and peaceful around here for as long as possible I will do my best.

Things have been nice around here. I don't wanna be the one to ruin it.

Next poll anyone?

Then I shouldn't mention Davis was with the Grizzlies as their lead assistant as they were building their team then? 8o

Whatever.
I mean I could say George Karl was the head coach of the Sonics in 1996 when they went to the NBA Finals...but does that change CP's current views about him?

Just sayin.
But it's all good. If you guys are happy I'm happy.

Next Poll:
Which Center will have a better career moving forward? Bynum or Oden?

What do you think about that?

Whatever.

Bynum, cause oden hasnt proven anything since being In the league.. except prove that he is made out of glass

Whatever.

Actually, Karl to the Finals in 96 helped my belief in how much he sucks, he was dreadful in that series. The West was weak and he had 2 superstars that got him there, once there, he refused to do anything proactive and gave away the series without even attempting to win it.

MJ and co probably win anyways, but if he had gone down swinging away I would have had more respect for Karl then. He went out like a *****. Payton was runnin that team by the time it was over.

Rambis and whoever the other guy is do nothin for me man. Assistant coaches are assistant coaches. They help behind closed doors, truly exceptional ones like Thibs occasionaly stand out, but for the most part they are all the same. Phil was a master, but he always had the same peeps with him behind the bench, together they were great, once they started takin jobs elsewhere, they all got drilled.

No reason to celebrate, but no reason for you to get too bothered by it neither bruh. Just nod and smile at the hires and keep it movin. Doesn't alter our future much at all.

next poll idea: favorite lakers inspired song
