Sorry for the mass email, but wanted to let you all know about the premiere of a documentary that I produced titled “SUMMER DREAMS” about young basketball players from various walks of life trying to make it to the NBA. The documentary will premiere on CBS this Saturday, March 15th at 8/7c. I worked on this project with my producing partner from THE OTHER DREAM TEAM, Jon Weinbach, who is an executive producer on SUMMER DREAMS. The show is produced by Mandalay Sports Media in conjunction with CBS and the NBA. Please check it out, and as always, I appreciate the support!! Thank you!!

OP didn't want a title as simple as "Books/Movie Thread", because there were certain members that had already posted in the thread when it was in Sports, and OP wanted that little group of members to remain intact. We asked that it be moved to General, where it belongs, and the complaints started about just anybody being able to post in here.
So this title keeps the gen pop out, while still masquerading as a movie thread for the gen pop.

Finally saw that James Brown Trailer...yup. That Bosman cat is a pretty good character actor....Am I wrong because I don't want this Jimmi flick to be made without the songs....if I don't here Along the WatchTower....I may walk out...i just may.

LOVED The Grand Budapest Hotel. Ralph Fiennes was brilliant; perfect for the part. If you like Wes Anderson movies generally, no way you won't like this one. But even if you don't, I think there's a chance you'll like Grand Budapest because its paced more quickly and more consistently funny than most of Anderson's other films.

Finished the first season of The Returned.
I have no idea what is happening. After reading around, it appears that no one does. Normally, that would bother me to no end because it's likely that the writers themselves don't know what's going on beyond the scope of each individual episode.
But something about this show feels different. I'm going to choose to give it a lot of credit and be optimistic about a shrewd, satisfying unfolding of the story.
Whatever the case, though, I think it is really well-done in every other aspect. I could see plenty of people not liking it because it is essentially a really indie show about zombies. It operates on emotion and buildup, not action. The creepiness is kind of Hitckcockian in that way. Nothing really has to happen, no people jumping out at you - it's just elementally there at nearly all times because of the slow burn of the story, the music and the setting. I can't stress enough how beautiful it is. The enviornment on its own, and the way it is captured.
Never seen a show like it. I am all in.
