One of the flicks I always recommend from DDL's filmography is Jimmy Sheridan's In The Name Of The Father about the Guildford Four. The inter play between DDL & Pete Postlethwaite is heartbreaking.






This was so heart breaking especially considering their relationship & being falsely imprisoned.






This scene had me so riled up... Flick had a great soundtrack too...

Real upsetting to know the Wolf Blu-Ray doesn't include Scorsese's cut like rumored :{ .



Movie was hard to get through just because of its pacing, but he obviously delivered. Even the child actor of Christy was awesome.

A LOT. I wish I could see his version of all his recent movies. The Aviator, The Departed, Goodfellas, Casino, Wolf. I could watch the 8 hour cut of all of those films.

I think I read it was more added dialogue than it was new scenes. Regardless, I would definitely be interested in seeing Scorsese's full vision of the film.

It was funny to hear him say his real life was worse as far as the sex and drugs. Most of the time in these kinda movies the real life person will say it was exaggerated.

Bradley Cooper is the top choice to play Indiana Jones in a franchise reboot.

Who knows whether it will end up being Cooper or not, but I'm sure a new Indy movie is coming. Lucas sold those rights to Disney too, if I'm not mistaken. So no way Disney doesn't do something with them. The lack of originality in Hollywood is depressing though.
 
These suits are throwing darts for ideas... Heard they were going to make a movie based on the 80s cartoon GEM. Really?!?! There's an audience crying for this material?!?!

Also heard a remake of Scarface!?!

As a viewing public we need to show then we will support original material. Only thing I can think of is going to indie movies, watching more original programming on Netflix and Amazon prime, hbo go etc. consumers must force their hand, that's the best I can think of.
 
I'd venture to say 70% of consumers don't care about cinema, they just watch movies.

Studio heads are in the game to make money, studies show certain types of movies make the most money.

Superhero/biographical/remakes/vampires/apocalyptic/teen novels.

It's supply and demand, has nothing to do with what most of us in this thread want. At least there are producers like Ellison who are making sure dope films get made even if most just break even.

Unfortunately, by and large the demographic groups that big Hollywood studios most covet (tweens to early 20s) aren't as concerned about the lack of creativity that bothers the rest of us. So, until those groups really stop going to movies and buying moive-related merchandise, I don't think any significant changes are coming.
 
Wait, so if Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hbo go, box ticket sales, movie rentals etc. had a sudden spike in indie movies Hollywood execs wouldn't take notice?

The 'throw our hands up because no one can change' attitude is so played to me. There use to be a lot of original screenplays, because consumers were vocal about what they wanted. People didn't just accept anything as 'the way it is.'

That attitude is so crazy to me, as if Hollywood is just randomly putting out unoriginal crap. It's because the people that don't care watch it and the people that do care cry about how 'nothing will change.' A little self defeating IMO.
 
What are you talking about bruh? We just outlined why things are the way they are.

It's not "back in the day", it's right now.

Has nothing to do with people "putting their hands up" everybody in here supports great **** but that's a drop in the bucket when **** like Twilight makes billions, you just don't seem to get it.
