Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I guess I'm done with Transformers:

See, he seems like a down to earth dude all the way around.

Gave his salary to the crew of the Matrix? :eek :hat

Playing street hockey for years and years. :lol

I forgot about his on stage work, again, he just does so many different things, but never really gets any credit for those efforts.

keanu is the type of guy that marches to his own beat. sounds like a good dude.

Speaking of Keanu, I caught some of Devil's Advocate on TV the other day and it's unintentionally kind of hilarious.

That movie was awesome in a weird way. The "How Did This Get Made?" podcast did an episode about The Devil's Advocate. I couldn't stop laughing.

Wife and I LOVE The Devil's Advocate. I watch it whenever I see it. Or sometimes we'll just throw the DVD in.

Not expecting much from Transformers.

But my Lil bro wants to see it so probably go see it this weekend.

He signed away the back end money the 2 Matrix sequels to the special-effects and costume-design team. The back end money ended up being apprx $75 mill.

He also gave back millions when he did Devil's Advocate so the producers could get Al Pachino & ditto for when he did The Replacements so he could work with Gene Hackman.

Don't feel bad though, he's said to have made $35 mill for the 3 Matrix movies...

I never liked the Bill & Ted movies but I do like when he plays odd balls like he did in Parenthood & I Love You To Death.

Keanu just seems like a decent dude and plays very relatable characters in most of his films.

He's in shape but not huge like a Stallone or Arnold and he's handsome but not in a Pitt way. He's just a guy you don't mind seeing on the big screen and like some have said, he always takes interesting and odd roles.

Keanu is ok if he has the right project but his voice kinda takes away from his performance for me a lot of times. I always feel like I'm hearing his Bill & Ted character in a lot of his serious roles.

After 3 transformers, why do ppl still expect something more from that series?
I'm going to enjoy tf4, because of the robot fights.

What are your guys' fav movie soundtracks?
Who has successfully gotten someone into movie soundtracks?
Right now, I'm loving the ost to grand budapest.

Taxi Driver (the main theme is brilliant, that jazzy bluesy feel of NY during that dark, decadent era)
Drive (A Real Hero is awesome)
Hitchcock films with Bernard Herman composing the score
TDK and TDKR (score and sound were brilliant and both)

There's more that I can't remember. Music in Film was one of the best classes I took in college. Yeah, my teacher was a joke and passed everyone, but it really opened me up to something I had overlooked completely.

^if i was a prof, i'd feel like douche for failing someone in my music in film class.
Imagine the fire from tdkr ost moves me.

Soundtracks for music or to score the movie? Off the top of my head, Mo Better Blues, Blade Runner, Drive, Out of Sight, Superfly, Purple Rain, The Harder They Come, Pulp Fiction, The Godfather, Kids, Wild Style, Tron Legacy, Star Wars, The Good The Bad & The Ugly, & Enter The Dragon...

Edit - Damn, forgot to include The Boiler Room soundtrack... Can't believe I forgot that soundtrack...

Can't wait to see this. One of my musical heroes. Vastly under appreciated. For those interested, the link has the North American theatrical dates.

Read the title wrong at first and thought, "why would anyone make a movie about the Chili Peppers' bassist? Plus, he's easy to find - he regularly shows up to Lakers games." Glad this movie is something else.
