Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Had some good choices on the movie channels tonight - Rounders, GOTG, Meet Joe Black, Edge of Tomorrow and The Departed. :smokin Going with Rounders, since I haven't seen it in the longest.

That new show the Bastard executioner is wayyyyyy bloody and **** than I expected.

The show was just okay for me.

The violence or gore wasn't much for me but I might be use to it given the amount or R rated type violent shows I watch on the regular.

Story didn't grab me much, acting wasn't the best but the predicament the dude finds himself in by the end is pretty interesting so I'll see where it goes.

What a **** head douche bag

The Bastard Executioner :eek

I think I will like this. I don't know about him casting Katey Sagal though. The theme song has Kurt Sutrer written all over it. It sounds good but I found it a bit off to open a period piece with an R Kelly-Esque ballad.

This had me wanting to see the end of the show right away to see if he marked the end with his classic SOA music montage.

Reminds me of the show Vikings on History way to much. I agree with the storyline being meh but it was decent.

Forgot to watch. Will check it ondemand later. Bastard is in the title so they need a guest appearance of the most well known bastard, Jon Snow.

1000

Hadn't heard of this until I saw a billboard for it this morning, but its an R rated animated movie with a pretty solid ensemble of voice talent. Could be interesting. Don't recall a major R rated animated flick that's come out since the South Park movie.

Yeah I've said a few times this is FX's attempt to get their own European period piece due to the success of Vikings and GoT.

Watching the premiere though I didn't get the Vikings feel much. Vikings go all the way hard on authenticity. So did The Tudors which is closer to this region and period. We'll see how hard this show goes with it.

As far as stuff like that goes, History channel is prepping for another period piece focusing on a war. I forget the name since I've only seen a few commercials for it back when Vikings was still on air but once again they went all the way in with trying to imitate the era.

Yeah, musicals really aren't my thing. Saw that Into the Woods was on, so I turned it on. Couldn't last past the first song that broke out ... and I didn't even get to see Anna Kendrick or Emily Blunt.

I haven't checked it out yet.. even though I'm okay with musicals and love those two actresses.

I dunno how authentic the historical parts of Vikings are but I see history nerds complain about how the show has changed stuff up about ragnar and floki.

I've been watching that show on a&e called Behind Bars: Rookie Year. It's about rookie corrections officers. People are so stressed on that show. My brother saw me watching and said his friend is in school to be a corrections officer now. Dude is crazy. The pay is pretty good but I would never do that job. He'll even be allowed to carry a weapon outside of work since the prisoners in the jail don't have long-term sentences.

I meant authentic as far as matching the period clothes and tools wise as well as when they bother to go in with the languages.

As far as matching history and being accurate, they definitely switched things up.

I need find a new Drama to watch this fall. No Boardwalk....No SOA. :{

Couple more eps of Ray Donovan, then all i got is the League...Everything else i watch doesn't come back until January. :lol

I hope Lagertha's hotness is authentic. Surprised we haven't seen her in major movies yet.

Fargo :smokin

Give Homeland a chance if you haven't dropped it.

There's definitely more but I won't have the fall lineup logged in my head until Oct. and I'm actively watching.

Might have to double dip this weekend for Black Mass and Everest :hat .

Or just wait til next Wednesday when work is closed for the holiday. Or use that day to start one of the many series' I intend on watching.

Decisions, decisions.
