Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I wish my lady K. Ritter would have taken a few "karate" classes between Season 1 and now.

I think she has a big opportunity here and not learning to fight is, silly.

Like, folks want to smash and cast Carrie-Anne, Beckinsale, Charlize, Milla, Scarlett, Ivana Milicevic because they are cute, but also because they are dope AF in their fight scenes, and that **** is madd hott.
Its simply not the character's thing. She doesn't learn martial arts or any other fighting style.

She leans on her super strength. Besides her thing isn't fighing anyway.

watched ghost in the shell today. i wasn't nearly as bad as i thought it was gonna be. i enjoyed it. scarjo's dialogue was a little too robotic. takeshi kitano was not bad and the rest of the cast was ok. visuals were really nice. wish i saw it in a theater. 6/8

I see 13 Reasons Why got a little traction in here, but I just finished it a couple nights ago. Yes, I'm most definitely a fan. That sort of thing is right up alley.
The bathtub scene completely threw me off because the show had mostly a PG vibe to it. That scene and when the parents first came in to find Hannah tugged my emotions.
The language and a couple rape scenes = mostly PG?

Her character may not be a fighter but in that 2minute preview alone, shorty had 2 different Fights, and she was serving them,  it looked funny.

Just saying. Like, if she's stuck in a fight, she's getting pounded then, instead she was serving "fighters"

Just let her get beat up and saved by a fighter if anything.

That's basically (gonna be) her thing :lol

She's a woman and built thin so all the henchmen underestimate her.

Plus she got super strength and other stuff so she can and will take a punch.

She's untrained so her fights still gonna look sloppy and funny.

Lol her character may not be a fighter, but she still has super strength.

I'm not a fighter at all but if I'm getting attacked by toddlers I'll still win cuz I'm naturally stronger [emoji]128514[/emoji] It's the same scenario

American gods was interesting. Don't have a clue what it's about, but there were a lot of memorable parts.

It's like Fargo(the series), fight club, watchmen, Spartacus, lock stock and 2 smoking barrels, The Fountain, The Fall, and The Big Lebowski rolled into 1 episode. I'm not sure what the point of the show is but I'll prob keep watching

5.599999/8

It's not like that scenario at all

Her Super strength helps her land punches on Skilled Fighters?

I'm not trying to split hairs I'm just saying learn a move or two.
**** looks funny.
Folks thought Iron Fist choreography was bad, but this is different.
It's like you know how Celebrities get to throw out 1st Pitch and they can't throw the ball 10ft, or at all?

This is more like that than it is you fighting toddlers

Who knows, it's a one minute trailer. Maybe she does learn a thing or two throughout the show and we just not seeing it yet. But mainly, she's supposed to look funny when she fights. Picture a girl you know who doesn't fight and is not interested in it and then she suddenly gets powers and that's Jessica Jones.

If you wanna see a girl who does know how to fight but has similar powers you're going to have to wait for the Captain Marvel movie lol

I actually don't foresee her doing that much fighting on the show anyway. Mainly letting the men do the heavy lifting and her lending her talents where she's needed, mainly in the cerebral, critical thinking department.

You will probably see more snarky comments from her than fighting, I'd say

is that the sens8 season 2 cast? i'm kinda on the fence about that series. i had mixed feelings about season 1.
Yes it is.

They kiind of lost me at the Christmas Special but I'm going to start it up here in a bit and see how the first couple episodes of S2 pop off...

Will keep you posted.

No the black guy was recast, he was different in the Christmas special. That kinda lost me too, show needs some kind of plot and endpoint to keep me interested.

Capheus was his name, dude I totally forgot he was recast.

I feel asleep about 30minutes in (because I was tired not because it was bad).

Now, let's do talk about whether it's good or bad.
Man it's too early to tell. It I will say this, after watching that 2 hour Christmas Special where the plot didn't advance and it was just a celebration of what felt like The Wachowski Brothers becoming Sisters and not even meant to be a critical part of the Series.

Well, I feel this Season may be a worse version of that.
Like, this feels like a show about Stereotypes who are a trying to prove they can be themselves.

It's just dripping wet with praise of being who are living out or coming out, instead of 8 people who connect through some superpower because they are Sensate. Not sure if I'll finish the Season unless I get some digestible content.

Someone mentioned in the netflix thread that The Last Kingdom is back too. Going to be busy bingeing that and sense8 and trying to see GOTG2 also.

GOTG 2 - 6/8

Not better than the original but a solid continuation for these characters.

I laughed a lot (which was their intention) the plot was a little weak and predictable.

Everything looked really good from the costumes to the locations. Some really good cameos as well.

holy hell i watched this movie called drifter

worst movie ever
Two outlaw brothers set out to kill the man who murdered their father. Their mission takes a drastic detour when their car is hijacked, forcing them to take shelter in the eerie town of Demyl. The brothers quickly discover the town is inhabited by a family of cannibalistic lunatics and a sadistic mayor. Now, they must fight for survival to escape the town.

Peeped that with the Christmas special where the Wachowskis we're headed and hoped it wasn't so. Seems insulting to the viewers who were vested so far. Like we're already in, relax, we've accepted and appreciated it, now expand on the sci-fi mystique to keep me hooked. Then you realize this isn't what this is about anymore. I'll skip this season.

Just finished Get Out. Good movie. The ending came up a little short for me, but it was really good overall. Anyone notice who the dad was?
