Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Can't remember the running joke in this thread that it migthve been CP or someone else who plans on watching shows/movies years late but I just saw the first episode of Breaking Bad.

Never seen the show. Obviously know the reviews about it but the reception of the final episode or two I never caught wind of which probably is most exciting for me.

Saw guardians vol. 2 not as good as the first but the music is so great. I wanna take my mom so she can relive the disco 70s in Space. Probably again if you catch my drift lol. 5.5/8

Think that was @JohnnyRedStorm if I remember correctly :lol....keep watching Breaking Bad

Yoooo that was so funny :rollin :rollin

It would be like "yo just watched Gladiator for the first time, it's LIT fambs!!!!" :rollin :rollin man I forgot all about that

Nocturnal Animals 5.7/8

Had NO clue Tom Ford directed movies. Saw his name in the credits and thought it was another producer out there with the same name as the fashion guy, but nope...he's just that creative/talented.

Anyways, it's a solid watch. Two stories going on at once, which I thought was a very interesting concept. I found myself getting SO agitated at Jake Gyllenhaal's character eventho he's a fictional character in a fictional book. Sounds weird, but if you saw the movie, you know what I mean.

Ending was dope as well (when they switched back to real-time w/ Amy Adams.)

CP, I can't believe it! Your favorite Star Wars actor is back with a new movie!!!

:lol 8o It looks comically good.

???

I don't have anything against Hayden at all. Early in this thread we used to talk about how amazing he was in Shattered Glass. I also liked him in Takers and Jumper.

Prequels weren't his fault at all. He wasn't great, but he wasn't given anything to be great either.

I was just playing. Cuz it'd be crazy if Hayden was your favorite of all SW movies given how undeniably bad he was and how you loathe the prequels :lol

And yeah I remember talking about Shattered Glass.

It is a bit crazy to me how the prequels almost broke him and his career tanking that he even had to lean on religion to get gigs.

Dude hasn't done a feature film since Takers I think.

The Rock's performance for the child molester robot skit surprised me. The Rock has been funny before, but I didn't think he was capable of that kind of funny. His comedic performance for that skit kinda reminded me of Jason Bateman

Just the first two really, Sith was pretty redeeming comparitively. He was bad bad in AotC, but better in Sith.

Trainspotting 2: 7.3/8

**** this movie was good. We really didn't deserve this sequel man. It was everything it should have been and more than I expected. They could have cheesed it up with this film. Could have gone Dumb and Dumber sequel with it. Or Zoolander 2 with it. Or Anchorman 2 with it. Nah. They didn't go out like that. Movie is a gem just like the 1st one. The feels were greater in this one though. Choose life bros. choose life.

Bad Moms 5.5/8

I wasn't expecting the movie to get that filthy but I enjoyed it overall. Has some really good jokes and had me laughing out loud a couple of times. Smh at any husband treating Mila or Kristen that way.

Good lord how many of these hangover/very bad things type movies they going make.. I literally was cracking a joke about that when I saw the one with Scarlett Johansson, then while flipping channels saw one with queen Latifah

For those thinking of watching the new POTC.. she drops a ton of nuggets

Script drags everything down apparently.. which makes sense when you look at the guy's other work

Top Gun 2? 8o

When it's all said and done, all time, Cruise might have a top 3 resume in terms of films IF he finishes these strong.

Mummy, TG2, Mission Impossible 6, maybe another Reacher, Live/Die/Repeat 2, if these hit, and Mummy could be 3-4 films in total......in terms of quality films and box office, and longevity, 30+ years, he can match anyone really.

Ford, Cruise, Denzel, Hanks, DeNiro, Smith gotta be top 6 in some order, right?

Anyone match them?

Leo is getting close.
But he hasn't been filming anything lately after Revenant :rolleyes

top 6 what? actors who play the same person in almost every role? box office hits/ most money raked in?

of all the movies you mentioned, i wanna see them all but live die repeat 2 is the one i wanna see the most. edge of tomorrow was fantastic.

Edge of Tomorrow was handled terribly.

That movie is something Special, and they let it die.
Even changed the name. Straight laughable.

Damn, how could I forget Leo? :{

Iono, Top 6 in terms of "most successful movies + franchises + box office earnings - duds", I guess.

My point was basically Cruise has a long *** resume of solid movies that have done really well and he shows no signs of slowing down in his early 50's. If he does well with these next few projects......man. Truly great career for a dude who almost blew it all.
