That title doesn't translate well to English. I read having "kill" in the title wasn't kosher for the studio.
Whoever made the trailer for it messed up. We talk about it in the thread and the positive reviews made a lot of us go and watch it. Then we talk about how good of a movie it was and it's a shame that it wasn't doing well box office wise. Seemed to do ok overseas.

Watched this trash last night. 2/8 is GENEROUS. Saw the preview for it when I watched 99 Homes and added it to our queue. Showed up yesterday and popped it. The preview made it seem very interesting. Summed up...there's a group of Mexicans trying to cross the border and there's a sadistic American who is sniping them off in the desert. Plot is poor, acting sucks, and it's VERY hard to suspend your disbelief because you'll be yelling at your TV about what people should be doing to escape. Even when the crazy dude's dog is murked, you'll find yourself laughing at the way it all goes down.

Lacked a clear direction with the film. Characters felt tacked on. The random Rock/EDM was distracting. Leaned too heavily on CGI... I could go on and on...

Nah, it was a hit.Except it wasn't a hit at the Box office, because it was handled wrong.
Opening weekend it did like 30 million bruh.
It got beat by Maleficent and The Fault in our Stars

Good yes, worth a sequel (most assuredly handled different? Oh I can assure you), Hit? Moreover a Boxoffice Hit....ummm no. For a Film of that caliber, you're not doing 30mil opening week and calling it a hit or handled right or a success in that manner.
Just saying.
Budget was 170 mil and it made 370 mil + worldwide. May not have been received amazingly initially in the states but the worldwide grossing is what got it the sequel.

I liked covenant better than Prometheus..
But it has a lot of the same issues.. some of the things that happen make even less sense than some of the stuff in Prometheus
Great movies are easily there to be made with both.. and I have no clue why, considering what Scott did with the Martian, we're getting some of the crap in these 2 movies
I would recommend checking it out, but you gotta know there are some serious serious serious annoying flaws about the movie
And fassgawd is great.. damn shame really

From the things he's said over the past 5 years or so with all of the movies he's made that have failed and succeeeed (Prometheus, The Counselour, Exodus, The Martian, Covenant) I feel like Ridley Scott doesn't really want to revisit the Alien franchise.
It just makes money and has all of this rep and he just goes with it.
Not surprised it frustrates some fans.

man my dad just had a lil minor surgery and my sis is rarely here, so that's reason enough..
but from the couple spoilers videos i've watched, transformers is a good example (in that it is what it is and what people should really expect at this point).. it might be better than part 4, but obviously that aint hard
