Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I like Pitts resume above all.
Nobody agreed he was near the top of anything last time this came up but....he has some gems, some greats, studio joints, comedies, all off it.

He's an Alien.

Iono, Top 6 in terms of "most successful movies + franchises + box office earnings - duds", I guess.
i dunno man, if that's the criteria, then i'd probably put tom cruise in the top 3 - deniro has a ton of crappy movies. look at tom's filmography. dude is an entertainment juggernaut. i despise that scientology nonsense and he might not be the most immersive performer but his resume is beyond impressive.

Finally watching Legend.

Emily Browning is breath-taking in this.
I couldn't place what I had seen her in so IMDB, she was the lead in Sleeping Beauty. What a creep show of a Film, but she was good in it, and she had the full frontal going in a few scenes with the burning bush chilling in all its glory.

She's an eyecatch, for sure.

I haven't seen that one yet @DangerousG  +1

Sorry but Grace's opinion is horrible.

Almost as bad as her voice.

Still going to see this.
i saw her review up when i opened youtube.. so checked it out since i didnt see any other reviews up yet..

but my biggest reason for posting was the issue with the writer, having seen his other work.. and his involvement in the upcoming live action lion king

Edge of Tomorrow was handled terribly.

That movie is something Special, and they let it die.
Even changed the name. Straight laughable.
Not sure what you're talking about.

Movie was a hit, sequel is underway with Cruise and Blunt returning.

Didn't it underachieve boxoffice wise for how good of a movie it was? I remember that being discussed in its thread.

I don't think it performed well at the box office.. or as well as it should have for how good the movie is

Just one of the those movies that has a long life and once people eventually come around, it gets talked about a ton.. not the first movie like that

Finally had a chance to see Fences (thank you, Delta) and my lord, Denzel was ROBBED. That was the best performance I've ever seen him give. The way he carried that role and the intensity was incredible. The entire movie was fantastic for what it was, and Viola did her damb thing also. Couldn't place where I've seen Cory before, then realized he's in the Leftovers. Kids got a bright future for sure.

Fences was a strong 7.5/8 for me. Viola's Oscar was well deserved, Denzel was robbed.

Had tonight's svu on for a few minutes. Episode is like a trump special. Rape suspect was trying to pass off the crime on a Mexican saying they're rapists and the Muslim victim deserved it because America hates them.

Finishing S1E5 of BB.

Sister in law was a total bishh in my book but respected her somewhat after helping Walt during his intervention lol. Love how you can see he's slowly gonna hit total savage mode with about 3 instances in the first 5 episodes. Car fire, sex with wife, punk kids in clothing store.

I've seen Jesse's story before though in tv. Good kid gone bad. Not 100% to the cliche obviously but still

Movie was a hit?

:{

The Movie was Great.
I think that is what you meant.
No. I meant what I said and I said what I meant.

I meant the movie was a hit as far as box office. So how was it "handled terribly" and how did the studio "let it die"?

The name change (to U.S audiences) derives from the fact that Live. Die. Repeat. was the original title of the movie. Hence, the sequel's title by way of the director and studios intent.

Jesse was never a good kid.

He was always a punk *** cool kid, typical HS stock character. Choices in life are being a burn out or turning to crime.

Except it wasn't a hit at the Box office, because it was handled wrong.

Opening weekend it did like 30 million bruh.
It got beat by Maleficent and The Fault in our Stars :)

Yea real Hit!

How is it that you muster "Not sure what you're talking about", when it seems that, you don't know what you're talking about.

Good yes, worth a sequel (most assuredly handled different? Oh I can assure you), Hit? Moreover a Boxoffice Hit....ummm no. For a Film of that caliber, you're not doing 30mil opening week and calling it a hit or handled right or a success in that manner.
Just saying.

And the OG title was it Live. Die. Repeat.
And it was not changed so they could something something with the sequel.

OG Title was All You need Is Kill.
Title was changed because the Studios got cold feet with the controversy that name may cause.
Keep on though.

i don't pay much attention to commercials and marketing but i do get the sense that edge of tomorrow could have been better promoted. i thought that movie was great. another movie that i think didn't get enough attention was looper. i fricken loved that movie. thank goodness the trailer didn't spoil the plot lines.
