Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Addio Bernardo Bertolucci... Riposare In Pace... A talented & fiercely independent filmmaker throughout his entire career. The Last Emperor is one of my favorite films. Always thought Brando looked creepy in Last Tango In Paris.

Gonna try to catch Venom & First Man this week from the comfort of my couch. Two movies I wanted to see but not in theaters.

For some reason they're remaking the Intouchables, this time with Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart. Stupid :smh:

Intouchables came out like 6 years ago. WTH they doing?

Yeah, great movie.

They make remakes that soon after? Maybe I'm just ignorant to that then.

It’s a lot more often when it’s an American remake of Euro/Asian movies and vice versa.

Toni Erdmann (German movie) was one of my favorites from 2016 and they announced a remake with Jack Nicholson and Kristen Wiig a year later :lol

Caught my breath for a sec.

I thought it was a typo and you meant The Untouchables.

I was about to go off in all types of ways

Okay, so yeah you a bit late. I remember the trailer for the French film and seeing the trailer for the American remake in the past few weeks.

This happens a lot with foreign flicks. Especially if they're good.

Hollywood running ran out of ideas.

Three Grinches have existed in my lifetime. I've seen 7 Fast and/or Furiouses, 8 Harry Potters. The list goes on, isn't it common for the authors to claim their $$$ when Hollywood comes after these ideas for movies (HPs, Dragon Tattoos, 50 Shades...)?

Well J.K. Rowling had a lot of say in the HO movies being made. Had some creative control with only British actors being cast.

She wrote all those books so was open to all the movies. Now she's straight up making movies off the dome no book first.

A lot of these authors need the money. This ain't the early and mid 20th century where a great author could drop a book and be the talk of the country or get global acclaim and make paper.

FF is a cash grab for the masses that like trash.

When it comes to the animated classics that's mostly Hollywood out of ideas looking to make money. Children movies got them greedy like that. Sometimes it's worth it for the advancements in technology.

J.K. Rowling isn't hurting for money though.
Well, not after the HP movie franchise.

Now it's all about the fame and acclaim. She low-key striker her ego with the concept of Fantastic Beasts and definitely with the sequel :lol

Michael Jordan isn't either, but he still has players under his(nike's) line. What's up with Space Jam 2?
Maintaining your wealth is a bit different in this context since J.K. produces a form of entertainment while Jordan oversees a shoe making company bolstered by star athletes who basically advertise them.

They're filming Wonderland (Spenser for Hire) in Weymouth, MA today. Trailers everywhere and stunt setups. :nthat:

Caught 'Ralph Breaks The Internet' over the weekend. Better than I expected. Pixar really has an insane track record.

Ralph is Disney Animated Studios not Pixar.

I remember passing out in the theaters for the first one. Might still watch this in Dolby or something just because I have A-List

American Animals 7/8

I actually really enjoyed it. I had no clue the real guys and their families would be featured in the film like that. Was a really cool approach.

I gotta ask tho, how the hell did they actually get caught?

Was it the fact that Spencer's email & cell were traced? Obv time passed & guilt set in, but then the raids went down and it wasn't clear to me how they got caught.

IIRC they got caught from email records, cell records and also when they went to Sotheby's to get that book appraised.
I also really liked this movie as it was kind of like one of those re-enactment mystery/crime shows on a much larger scale.
