Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

LOL. Such a horrible premise, but it was entertaining.

Face/Off gave us one of the greatest gifs of all time.

Man the mule was so disappointing. No character development in the beginning. You’re just rushed right into it. I get the point of the movie was to get the point across that the theme is time is the most valuable thing there is, but man idk. Ending was hot garbage too

Should these gents be nick named El Tri? Props to these 3 doing some of the most creative & original work out there.

:emoji_clap::emoji_fist::emoji_raised_hands::emoji_flag_kr: Big up to Sandra Oh & her win last night. She did a phenomenal job on Killing Eve. Wife & I really enjoyed the first season & cant wait for season 2. Made me proud. Love how she paid homage to her parents & told them she loved them.

Yo, Jon Voight is an excellent actor.

I've been duped the past 6 years or so and temporarily blocked out his previous roles cuz he's been so great @ playing Mickey Donovan on Ray Donovan and he's so grrat at portraying such an old pervy scumbag lowlife.

I'm catching some of the Rainmaker right now and I'm like OH ****, this ************ is acting. Gave me an abrupt reminder. Southern lawyer with the accent. Dude is great as the antagonist/villain in almost any role.

Strange of you to bring it up, because coming out of his hot run in the 80s/early 90s I stumbled upon and bought a previously-owned car of John Voight.

This looks funny... Gonna take my momma in law & my wifey’s BFF & her daughter (one of our godkids - 1 of 6 godkids), to dinner & this flick when it comes out... Good to see Regina King on her grind.

The Predator 1/8. And that’s being generous.

I honestly can’t believe they were allowed to make this movie. It’s like a farce movie or something. Like sharknado but I don’t know if they meant it to be. Just absolute garbage.

I’ve heard of films sometimes being made as tax loopholes with no intentions of actually making a real movie. Basically like money laundering. I wonder if that was the case with this movie because I don’t really have any other explanation as to how you can twist a legitimate franchise into an abomination like this.

I love Jon Voight's Scarface impersonation in Anaconda :lol

But Midnight Cowboy is one of my favorites...he's got quite a few classics under his belt

close Psk:lol: GdT said in an interview that he calls themselves the three amigos of cinema.:pimp:
well deserved of course. I honestly didn't think a lot of movies that came out in '18 were in the category of Oscar contenders. This is me not having seen a lot and needing to see VICE at least. Like Roma was great (standard Cuaron greatness) but feel hollywood sideswiped it the foreign film category. He won best director after all. but as the years gone by Ive trusted the award shows less and less on deciding what deserves what. Like Black Panther in drama or even getting that much recognition is a big question mark to me. like the ceiling has been lowered in quality. maybe I'm in the minority but Hey *kanye shrug

Movies made to launder money? Link?
Watch Get Shorty on Epix

A friend of mine said I should check it out on Kodi and not waste my money.

For me, Black Panther is a deserving film for at least to get nominated because it's such a transformative experience as a film watcher. The myth & world Coogler created was phenomenal. It almost felt like the very first time as a kid when I watched the first Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, or the very first Indiana Jones. Very few movies have given me that level of exhilaration not only in the theater but also at home.

Sure the movie has it's flaws, with the CGI chiefly among them, but IMO this movie definitely deserves at least the nominations it got at the GG & hopefully gets nominations at the Oscars.

I mean even Marvel Films head Kevin Feige said at the time, "We’re watching the final playback, where you see the final film and check for any last-minute changes, and when it ended I just instinctually leaned over to Ryan and said, ‘I think this is the best movie we’ve ever made."

Coogler became a true auteur with Creed & Black Panther... Fruitvale Station was a phenomenal first flick to. That's my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Master Zik Master Zik - Voight is indeed a great actor... He has me absolutely hate hate hating his Mickey Donovan character. Like he has me yelling at the TV.

He had me hating him in Rain Maker & Varsity Blues to. His quintessential performance is Midnight Cowboy of course.

I said all the same things about this recent iteration of Predator. Nice Guys was a solid flick but I think shane black should never be allowed near anything in the film industry. Not even to take out the trash.

I read recently the ending was supposed to include Schwarzenegger getting out of a chopper then turning inside to say come on lets go with the camera turning to Alien's Ripley & a grown Newt in battle armour....
