Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Anyone see "The House That Jack Built " yet? My friend was saying it's one of the most graphic and disturbing movies hes seen in a while. Overall he said it was only decent as a whole though. Want to watch but kind of iffy cause while I like horror I dont like over the top graphic movies.

Seems like damn Detective Rust Cohle has been busy. The plot doesn't seem very original, however it does look entertaining.

Terminator 6” (November 1)
The last couple of “Terminator” movies have been disappointing, but hope springs eternal. Both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton are back. Tim Miller, director of “Deadpool,” is helming the project. It may not be as good as the original, or “Judgment Day,” but it will be worth seeing.

Could this look any worse or is it just me.

Star Trek 4 has been shelved by Paramount.
The director SJ Clackson got tapped to direct the Game of Thrones prequel series before they got anything concrete on with ST4... Can't blame her, GoT prequel is a great oppotunity but NT will hate it because it's lead by a female cast with a female director.:rolleyes

“Knives Out” (November 27)
Rian Johnson apparently has enough free time in his busy schedule of fighting “Last Jedi” haters online to direct a movie that, frankly, looks awesome on paper. “Knives Out” is being called a whodunit murder mystery, and from the guy behind “Brick,” that’s exciting. The cast looks amazing: Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Lakeith Stanfield, Michael Shannon, Jamie Lee Curtis and even more cool names.

The cast sounds amazing, interested to see how this turns out later this year.

Really NT doesn't like GoT, I just started it and caught up about a month or two ago.

No, NT loves GoT but they hate on projects that have females as the lead or directed by women...

Wonder Women isn't appreciated on here & is generally looked at on NT as meh.... Outside of the Nolan Batman flicks (which are the best comic movies bar none IMO), WW is by far the best DC film. I think it's a solid film yet dudes on NT hate on it.

Dudes are saying how bad Brie Larson's acting looks in the trailers released for Capt Marvel... She's an Academy Award winning actress whose more than proved her range in movies like Short Term 12 & Room yet somehow dudes are saying the last Avenger flick (which was horrible) was flames... Go figure...

The comic & Star Wars threads are very very misogynistic & eerily cultish....

A friend of mine said I should check it out on Kodi and not waste my money.

i watched it on kodi when good rips dropped last month and regret it  i stan for the predator franchise too

on a basic level the plot (at least initally) isnt a bad way to get predator(s) back on earth and a group of badasses together to fight it but the execution is so mindnumbingly bad

Beautiful Boy 6/8

Tremendous acting from Carell & Chalamet. Extremely sad. I watched with my girl and she has said the dad's book goes into super detail about Nic's behavior while on drugs, as well as when he comes off the high. I guess I was 'hoping' to see some more drama, but I can totally understand why certain things were not visualized.

I have no issues with female leads in movies, of course I can't think of any right now. However I was not entertained in the least with WW, my wife loved it. I fell asleep and woke up and it was still on. I don't like the tone from the trailers of Captain Marvel, because it kind of feels like they are trying to push an agenda. I don't want an agenda in my Marvel movies I just want a good movie with a decent story.

Wife and I will probably still check it out on matinee, when kids are in daycare.

I'm sure you already know this, award winners have mailed in some performances before.

Take my opinion with a grain of salt I was entertained with SS, I took it as a movie in a vacuum.

What "agenda" do you think "they" are trying to push?

The more I watched WW, the more I appreciate what Patty Jenkins did & Gal's performance. Gal is utterly gorgeous to for a chick that has no mass back there. I don't like the first quarter of the movie but I love it when WW gets to the UK & into the throws of the war.

I loved the duality of WW's maternal loving side & wanting the world to be better place through love & compassion but then was the irate Amazon warrior princess that fought with that hulk type rage.

I actually hated the idea when she was first announced as being cast because I thought she was a skinny mini & frail looking. Me being an old head, I had a psychic imprint of Linda Carter (lawd have mercy, she still looks good). but she kinda blew me away with her performance.

One of the other things I didn't like the villain they created. He was very very meh as was the origin story.

There's definitely a contingent of woman hating posters on NT.

With that said Wonder Woman is a mediocre movie.

Plenty of female led greatness like most things Any Adams stars in. Its just about clearly praising the great projects.

I think Captain Marvel is gonna be great.

If Beale Street Could Talk is an amazing movie and that's female led.

I read recently the ending was supposed to include Schwarzenegger getting out of a chopper then turning inside to say come on lets go with the camera turning to Alien's Ripley & a grown Newt in battle armour....
Whhhaaaaa?

Shane Black is on drugs. That fanservicing ending would not have saved that movie.

Man jackie chan’s acting in The Foreigner was terrible... Was this a netflix flick that got away from them? Was a meh cable watch.

Catching Ocean’s 8 on HBO now... I wonder if Helena Bonham Carter is still shacked up with Tim Burton.

Lots of guys thought Wonde Woman was meh.

Im one of them.
It wasnt designed for us.

I kept hearing male reviewers say they went with their wives and the wives were all excited for certain parts and the guys were all confused/didnt see the hype during the same scenes.

Im watching Transformers Last Knight. I hate this movie. Alot. But the third act is visually stunning. They shoulda never made this film. The worst jokes of all time.

I see that criticism a lot about female led or diversity led movies. 'They are pushing an agenda.'

I don't really understand it

I watched WW and I don't see the agenda that's being pushed.

People try to say that they're pushing agendas with the new star wars movies too and I don't see the agendas being pushed either.

And now they're saying it about Captain Marvel and the movie isn't even out yet.

I think it's getting a little ridiculous. And I'm a guy. I can only imagine how triggered females must get when they hear the phrase 'they're pushing an agenda' attached to female projects.
