Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

WHERE ARE DA DROIDECARSSSS?

I’ve watched 211 films this year.

I knew it was gonna be a bunch, I just didn’t think it’d be that high.

Once upon a time in this very thread, we used to track our annual watches. Sadly, I don't track "every" film like that, but I know I am well up there. Hell, I watched some terrible piece of trash last night because I didn't feel like getting up to grab the remote (3 feet from me). It was called Disaster Movie.......which was apt.....but damnit if Kim K did not look stunning back then. :smh: Made me want to watch her other movie.

I try to remember to use Letterbox for tracking but I forget.

A lot of times after work if I have time for a movie I might watch a little sports, play some PlayStation and listen to a pod, or just watch tv and browse online.

A movie is a bigger "commitment" with less time and I could do like 4 more things in that time. And then every time I watch a good movie I'm reminded why I love them

Wait if we counting 'other movies', I easily watch 400+ a year. 😬🤷‍♂️

What's Add Threadmark? Is that like a favorite within a thread you can go back to? Cuz......oh **** in the sports threads.

I'd say I watch about 3 movies a week. That puts me at about 150 a year. Less than 50 is kinna low. That's less than 1 movie per week.

No Way Home

All this started because kids didn’t get into MIT.

Loved the Tobey/Garfield humility and major parts, literally unparalleled movie slant. Keaton/Kilmer/Clooney/Bale/Ana could never.

Wanted to see Costanza as Uncle Ben.

Big L for Topher Grace

Zendaya and Holland chemistry crazy this film compared to the last

7/8

400 a year? Wtf

Na. I still go to bars, parties trips, Lakeshow and Dodgers slow me down as well. Video games.
That’s some dedication though. That’s like more then one a year? How do you do it?

Ive been logging on LB since 2016 and im consistently at around 130ish movies a year.

400 a year is insane

Only kingkoopa kingkoopa reviews all the late night movies he sees everyone else holds out
Yeah my gf made me watch Booksmart last week and it was good. Some funny moments and a good debut for Olivia Wilde. Didnt feel like it was worth talking about in depth tho.

That said I may have watched upwards of, like, a couple dozen new movies this year.

Watching a vid on Moonlight's composer and had me thinking about it again. Maybe I missed it, but was Mahershala's character closeted as well that's why he took to the kid?

I didn’t pick up on that, but I only watched the movie one time. Wouldn’t Surprise me, there were other small details I missed.

The vibe I got was just that Majershala has played a step-father like 5 times in his career so he seemed believable

His Oscar’s speech describing his character:
“What I think I learned from working on Moonlight is you see what happens when you persecute people,” he said. “They fold into themselves. What I was so thankful about in having the opportunity to play Juan was playing a gentleman who saw a young man folding into himself as a result of the persecution of his community, taking that opportunity to uplift him, and tell him that he mattered and that he was okay and accept him. And I hope that we do a better job of that.”

And also, Ali’s own father left his family when he was 3. Prob strong influence from his own life experience projecting onto the screen

I use trakt.tv for tracking, and used Zenobase to export the data.

Even minus the docs and short films, I should still be over 200.
You watched some FIRE THIS YEAR!

I didn't know this page was on here, I'm a big movie guy. Probably watch 3 movies a week.

I thought Moonlight was very good. Recently saw No time to Die in theaters. I enjoyed it a lot, thought it was well done. Also, saw House of Gucci in theaters, was very disappointed. Looking forward to seeing Nightmare Alley and Spiderman this week.
