Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

So.......never seen it.

I have it on my DVR and just haven't yet pulled the trigger.

Just watched 40 Year Old Virgin for the 50th time and now watchin Boomerang for the 10th time tho.

I will get to it soon. I been meaning to.
You and I aren’t always eye-to-eye on movies, but I’d be surprised if you didn’t like it all.

Kate Hudson is charming as hell; Crudup is very solid and PSH and Frances McDormand are awesome in their smaller parts.

Another film I only thought I’d seen.
This joint is hilarious.

you must love Steve that much. I really can't recall if I have seen the same movie that much but I know of a few that I have watched several times.
I've only watch Boomerang a few times and the scene that stuck with me is that Perfume commercial.

The entire Series is legit.
I remember seeing Meet The Parents in the theater with the 18yr old receptionist at my Store.
I knew I’d keep her, we both laughed and connected to that silly *** stuff. Fun times.

Ben Stiller was on fire during that period. I remember renting out "Something About Mary" from way back in high school. a friend of mine never shut up about it. can't blame him since it was really hilarious. my brother loved it so much as well. I remember him watching "Rain Man" but unfortunately the broadcast was cut just when the movie was about to hit it's climax. he loved it so much that he had to re-watch and rented it over and over again.

I'm not a huge Ben Stiller fan, but he has legit 4 movies my wife and I will watch over and over no matter when it's on.

There's Something About Mary
Along Came Polly
Meet the Parents
The Heartbreak Kid

10+ views each of these.

you don't like Tropic Thunder or Zoolander ?

I like Tropic Thunder but prolly only watched 2-3 times.
Not big on Zoolander, no.

But not just me to sell, wife too. :lol

I'll watch just about anything at least once. She, will not. So repeats are primarily tied to her. :lol

Pete and Debbie in Knocked Up are amazing:

“So, what do you think? Should we have sex tonight?”

“Uggghhhh…it’s just that I’m so constipated. You really think we should?”

“Sure, now…crazy your sister is pregnant right?”

“Yes. We have to help her. We have to help her raise the baby.”

“Well, ****…”

speaking of repeats, it might probably tear me up to rewatch "My Fellow Americans" and "DAVE" considering what's going on around right now.

Man.
I had to stop The Card Counter and decompress.
I got really nauseous at the GITMO scene.
This film is WOW. There no wonder this FILM flies or flew under the radar.
Jesus Christ. I’ll be watching this again right away.

Even Tiffany Haddish is tolerable, good character for her is why, though… because she is just not tolerable

Oscar Isaac always picks roles that let him cook.
Dude might just be my favorite actor.
Was going to say Best Actor in the World, yea my favorite.

Still need to see the Card Counter.

First Reformed was a masterpiece, Schrader still got it.

I have not seen First Reformed, but I’ll get to it and a few more of his today, or so that was the plan. Reading your post this morning I knew I’d want to view it sooner than later so today was the plan, it I got stuck on King Richard somehow, watched 5minutes of it while it was in TV, now I am intrigued. Wasn’t interested in seeing it before and I don’t know why.

Back to Card Counter though.
Man it’s a TABBOO kind content and really makes America point the finger nowhere else but America and forces them to acknowledge a couple of really f”@&$d up things about 2 of their major State and Federal Institutions.

It’s heavy AF right away, but as the first act ends and a few characters are introduced I felt the film had so much hope, it wasn’t all despair and heaviness, there was a redemption song here and I’m here for it. Boy was I wrong. **** got super heavy and took all my hope in an instant, and then it was over. Amazing film, dope as hell topic…another Homerun by the Writer/Director.

I guess it did end on a decent note and didn’t leave me completely crushed but God Damn, it’s a super super uncomfortable turn every time you least expect it. I did watch it back to back, I knew I would. Give it a shot reconic supreme reconic supreme , you will be glad that you did it Sooner than Later.

Gotta be cool to be just chillin and all of a sudden your music from 30 years ago starts hitting again.
As someone who’s had “Running Up That Hill” in his music library and in regular rotation for 25 or so years, I’ll say it’s always been hitting, it just got introduced to wider audience recently.

That said, TV/Movie placement can do wonders with that kind of thing. Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” has been a top ten hit in at least 3 different decades because of being featured in different movies.
