My 14yo has suddenly been requesting movies - I’m not sure where she’s getting the ideas but they’ve been good.

She was off school on Friday and watched Interstellar then asked if we could watch The Prestige last night. This evening has been Signs - which was better than I remembered.

Looks like the Village is next. I’m trying to persuade her that we should watch Field of Dreams too - I think it’s the cornfields making me think of that.

Have a movie day/night jar/box or a cookie tin throw your movies and her movies along with a few wild card slips for movies that you forgot, werent out at the time or you're getting impatient to watch and you haven't drawn from the slips yet 🤣 you can always pull another when you do eventually draw it. Its what we do good way to get my daughter to watch movies with me she otherwise would probably never watch and vice versa 🤣

Cider House Rules; Lord Have Mercy. What a film. I didn't see that until about 10years after it released and buddy, it's something else.
The Feels.

Same feelings when I watch The Reader or Atonement.
only saw snippets of it but never really watched. might go on and give it a try. same goes for The Reader and Atonement.

speaking of, does it have the same vibe as that of "Closer" ?

Treasure this. Finding out a child has good taste in movies (or at least is listening to good reccs) is a blessing.

Oh no, no no no.
Much different vibe.

Closer is more like SHAME.
Dirty.

Been fascinated by the Deacon creature from Prometheus, ever since I first saw it. It’s sad they cut his story out. I think you could truly get some outstanding material/series from this. Like, let HBO get the script.

prometheus so fire.

M3gan was so awful. And not in a malignant type of way. Wasn’t able to suspend my disbelief. Dumb characters making really dumb decisions, and a robot that kills for reasons. The end.

2/8

This sounds nothing like a typical horror.

I know right?! But seriously, there’s some horrors that have witty dialogue, good cinematography, maybe metaphors for real life issues, attractive cast members, good special effects, and keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens next.

This movie has literally none of those things. Would not recommend.

Aubrey Goes West

Well damn....I see what y'all mean when y'all said this movie was better than expected. Aubrey got some surprising acting chops. Some moments were so cringe I wanted to fast forward which usually means I bought into the character enough to care. Gonna have to watch Life After Beth too.

Why are you watching anything but the 10 I have assigned you? :|

I need you thru Fast 4 by Friday. Save Fast Five for the weekend. #Family
