First time from last night

I watched it thinking it would be a nice lil cool off before my DVR shows were done so I could FF through commercials…:bruh, why the hell didn’t anyone warn me?!?! He was no Heath but Joaquin did a really good in that role. Maybe because I’ve been paying to attention to performances more since I’ve been watching movies more consistently but that man was IMMERSED.

I couldn’t imagine going from shooting as Arthur Fleck for hours per day/night then trying to have a regular life. I thought the pacing was slow at first but then once you realize it’s a two hour film, it’s actually just about right.

I don’t really like the movie but he was incredible in it and his performance made it worth the watch at least.

Read up on the theories..... 👀

Which movie YOU saw. :nerd:

Oh **** :wow:

Are you talking about the theories that it could be all in his mind/made up (kind of like how the girl was never actually with him) or that it could be a flash forward?

I totally didn’t think of either nor would I have thought to look up theories. I accepted it for what it was. I’m slipping

Theories about what exactly :nerd:

Basically this:

You watched the film straight up as it was. Down on his luck clown, lives with his mom, kinda loses it a lil bit, becomes Joker. Right?

Or.......

The subtle hints in the movie that none of that **** really happened. At the start he day dreams of being on DeNiro's show, but he wasn't.
His "girl" that clearly wasn't his girl. Later, he goes to the hospital lookin for records, the walls are dingy yellow, kinda dim as hell. At the end, they are GLEAMING white. Like Stormtrooper clean. And the Dr asks him, why are you laughing? He says "you wouldn't understand....."

Consider what we know about Gotham/Joker......no one knows who he is. He went on live TV as Arthur Fleck and shot dude in the head......the city/world just forgot who he was? 8o

No sir......it was all in his head. He was in Arkham the whole time.

So which did YOU see? 👀

I know it’s probably “cheating” or considered a BS answer but I saw a blended version kind of like I did with American Psycho where most of the **** happened but not as we saw them. Both started out with deranged dudes who got more and more wild as the movie progressed and unbelievable things started to happen.

If I had to reframe my perspective of the film (which I basically have already ) based on one of the two options you presented, I am 100% going with it being all in his head.

I viewed the film multiple times in theater, picked up more each time and I kinda viewed them both ways and loved it as such. Great film imo.

I would watch it again but there’s so much good content I’ve been catching up on.

Semi-relevant based on casting but DeNiro is my dude. I have seen more DeNiro since Christmas than I have in my whole life. That man is like Tom Brady where he’s damn near had three careers in one. It not only goes back but he has such wide range. Definitely one of my faves.
