Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

HELLLLL NO

Not a book reader.

It was just a much easier story to follow.

I haven’t seen the OG since release.

Once I get done with my Lost rewatch I’m headed to Top Boy then I’ll revisit LOTR since they snatched the F&F franchise away from me on streaming 😤

Ayy rest in peace, Tom Sizemore. Was involved in one of the best scenes of all time.

Some of y’all like Knock Knock in this thread… apparently it is what led to Ana de Armas being cast as Marilyn.

Like is an understatement.
Love is more appropriate.
Probably the worst acting I have seen from Keanu.
It’s real bad.
I mean, the acting.
Film is remarkable.
Not sure how it worked.

I will have to see it, somehow it comes up a lot.

That tweet you quoted that I posted was deleted by Deadline but it said this, which is from the actual article:

...

I asked de Armas if she had a favorite Monroe performance. She mentioned 1957’s The Prince and the Showgirl. “She was really good in that,” she said, while also naming Bus Stop.

De Armas was stunned that anyone would have thought of her for the role, but director Andrew Dominik did, and it was for a very unexpected reason.

“It was a very strange thing. He saw years ago Knock Knock, this Eli Roth movie with Keanu Reeves, and it was an OK movie but it wasn’t a job that I was super proud of, and life is funny because Andrew saw that movie and he thought I was perfect for Marilyn Monroe. So, I thank everyone in Knock Knock,” she laughed, perhaps previewing her Oscar acceptance speech should she win. “I had a lot to work against and I had a lot of work to do and I was terrified, and I felt very vulnerable and self-conscious and I was struggling with not only a specific accent and Marilyn’s affectations, but just the language itself was a problem. But it was amazing because I just felt like it was a no-brainer that I had to go through that for myself. No matter what happened to the movie or the performance or getting any recognition, it was something that I had to do for me.”

I saw Guy Ritchie’s Operation Fortune.

It’s fine, Ritchie is similar to Ridley Scott where he’s clearly in F it mode and doing every project he can get his hands on lol

I didn’t hate my time with it and Aubrey Plaza is a smoke show

Oh snap, here come the tears Man.

I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the first time I saw this scene. It really changed my life. I definitely turned a corner. Strength found I didn’t know I had, and it came from a Hollywood Production.
Crazy how something so, Hollywood and trivial-immediately becomes consequential and has such a lasting impact on you….

It's a great scene.

I really like Ali. I wish it could have been GREAT but it's still a solid watch.

I'm team pain and gain too :{

I ended up really enjoying VVitch. I think not being dead tired and being used to the 17th Century dialect the second time around made it much more enjoyable.

When your infant brother is kidnapped, younger twin siblings sell their soul to the devil, your younger brother gets kidnapped, possessed and killed by witches, aforementioned younger twin siblings gets ya pops murked and you have to kill your mom because she thinks your responsible for it all so you’re forced into witchcraft as a teenager |l

I blame William for having them kicked out the paint in the village. They failed Thomasin and were eek trying to sell her to the game multiple times :smh:

Lighthouse doe….bruh

That was truly off the chains mayne. Nothing else I can say  Glad I watched it though, it was great acting. Some of the best I can remember from a two-man cast.

Oh yeah, and I know VVitch is from 2016 so this may have already happened but I am 100% convinced that Givenchy, Balenciaga, Versace, or any of those other high fashion brands could base an entire fashion show and fall/winter clothing based on the fits rocked in VVitch, charge thousands of dollars and the **** would sell out at retail

I was looking at young Caleb’s fit when they first went into the woods and was like “Not sure if poor 17th century boy or 2020s spoiled rich kid in avant garde designer clothing trying to look cool.”

SGA, Kuzma and Russ would definitely show up to some games looking VVitch chic

I feel like you've been on record in here not liking other films that fall into the weird/artsy/surreal category and Lighthouse, IMO, fits that description.
Pretty much, yeah. It is a SHORT list, the list of 'artsy' movies I've thoroughly enjoyed. Big Fish... actually that might be the list. 🤣🤦‍♂️

The component that seems interesting about Lighthouse, honestly, is storm2006 storm2006 'reaction' a few replies up. 👀

It’s certainly an interesting movie. Top notch acting, but weird as hell. Reality and fantasy are blurred. Lots of really disturbing imagery. Filmed entirely in black & white. Some ultra violence. Grotesque body horror. Pattinson masturbates for real on camera.

Not a movie I would recommend to anyone you know personally, otherwise they gonna look at you sideways. Worth watching if you can get through the weirdness. I was disturbed, but I still give it a high rating. 6.8/8

Yea it’s not an easy follow.
Feels like they cut out too much.
No way that script is was a solid 2hours, should have been a bit longer, 3 hours were needed I think.
