Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

That’s ideal because I’m like 10 mins into Thanksgiving so I’ll wait

I heard Eli Roth say on the Big Picture Ringer podcast that the idea of the movie Thanksgiving came from one of the mock Thanksgiving trailers played during either one of the movies.

Swear these studios are money laundering

How haven’t we learned…. Netflix’s problem is that they’ve signed these actors like Sandler and others to multiple movie deals, or is it the budgets they commit to those actors in those multi-movie deals? They gotta learn like Disney, Sony; and everybody else

The mock trailer for Thanksgiving played during Grindhouse was hilarious. You don't really need to wait to watch Thanksgiving, but its fun if you're doing things in chronological order.

Deathproof was boring to me. Tarantino loves his dialog but this just wasn't punchy enough imo. It did finally pick up when they go for the test drive. Only saving grace was having all these gorgeous actresses on screen. Rosario, MEW, the DJ, the other one with the lips, Rose... etc.

Next up (Tubi). I see why it has 100% on RT, very well-made and critics nowadays are overly enthusiastic about the subject matter. I have my reasons why it isn't 8/8 imo but those are spoilers.

A troubled man gets released from prison and starts taking out his sadistic fantasies on an unsuspecting family living in a secluded house.

I’ve seen commercials on TV too. Just seems like they didn’t think the idea through enough. Like, who did they think the audience would be for a PG-13 Santa Clause action movie?

Too intense for little kids, probably too tame for teenagers and too goofy for adults to see on their own.

Oh **** I have heard of it, a long time ago like July maybe… it was in theaters as an ad, but three months later I had forgotten. The Rock is one of the best actors of our generation….

I now remember the Polar Bear scene at the end of the trailer with Chris Evans being like the comedic sidekick… sounds horrible.

Eli Roth directed the Thanksgiving trailer. Three of the five trailers have been turned into feature length films: Machete (Robert Rodriguez), Thanksgiving (Roth), Hobo With a Shotgun (film contest winners).

I really wanted a feature length on "Werewolf Women of the SS" because that was Rob Zombie's trailer.

So many great quotes from Pacino in Heat. I heard his character was supposed to have a drug problem but it was edited out. Makes sense if true, Pacino acted crazy.
That is my favorite line, he was so incredulous about having him or having an understanding, and then not having him two seconds later as **** goes down, through his fingers.

And Hobo with a Shotgun was well reviewed if I remember, basically it seemed like the pandemic had Roth and money coalescing to make Thanksgiving

The drug problem makes sense, didn’t his wife have one in the movie..?
