Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I wanna go back and start 24 over again from the beginning. Still remember how epic it was seeing that first season come together. ******g Kiefer man, had me ready to join the FBI.

I HATE the Sopranos and the Wire.

They ruined TV for me. I watched the Shield after the Wire, and I made it to season 5, but it just didn't measure up. Same with Rescue Me, same with The Unit. So instead of finding new shows, I just keep on watching the Sopranos and the Wire over and over again, and its almost painful

Why do you hate the wire?

The Wire is my favorite show...ever

But after that and the Sopranos, nothing else even begins to come close. its like I watch every show with the :rolleyes face, because no other show measures up

24 was PERFECT for the time it aired IMO. America was ready for this type of television. Seasons 1-4 were very good IMO but after that it got kinda outlandish and redundant. Being Almeida back was too much for my taste.

Season 3 was :hat too. When Jack had to pull that trigger I was in complete shock. I believe I'm thinking the right season.

I actually really liked Almeida coming back at the time because I was a fan of his character but you're right. My favorite was when Jack had to cut off Chase's hand. I guess that's what you get for borking Elisha Cuthbert.

Almeida was definitely my favorite character. I think that's why it hurt so bad to see the turn. It actually felt like it moved me emotionally. :lol

I didn't read any spoilers about him or anything so it really caught me off guard.

I can't even remember the damn final season. I might just have to catch that again. Or start over from the jump like you said. :hat

Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights, Mad Men

Stop comparing them and just watch it. The unit and Rescue Me aren't on the top tier so maybe that's why.

I can appreciate other mob movies after Godfather. Other basketball players after Jordan. And so on. Don't let a couple great shows shouldn't ruin all shows.

Breaking Bad was ok, I couldnt get completely into it.

I have to look into Mad Men, I really dont know much about it

Friday Night Lights was good? I hadn't heard much about the TV series

Friday Night Lights was really damn good television. It's one of those shows that had a true following but wasn't big enough to blow up. A lot of people didnt make it to the end of the series when it transitioned to directtv and had new cast members but it was till a great show.

One Tree Hill WAS one of my favorite guilty pleasures until it got so damn outlandish with the storylines. When that damn heart fell out of the cooler I was done. :lol

I'm all for suggestions on TV shows, my only requirement is that the show already be finished. I hate keeping up with shows that are still ongoing.

How much of a ***** was Tony's mom though

True that. There's nothing like watching a whole season in a couple of days.

I swear. I can't even talk about LOST because I get so defensive about it. It's the best show ever made (IMO) and I know everyone has an opinion on it. I don't feel like anything can get me so caught up into theories, anticipation, excitement, etc.

the Shield ... I made it to season 5

FINISH IT.

Won't even tell you to watch it all over again.
Start from the beginning of season 5 and watch to the end.
I promise you, you won't be in here saying it doesn't measure up.

Season 7, in it's own way, is right there with any season of The Wire or Breaking Bad. I made that same mistake...I watched it religiously when it was on, then fell off cuz I didn't like Glenn Close, but like I was, you're ******g up not finishing the show. That is all-time great television.

I'll do it by the weekend, and I'll definitely report back to this thread.

If its as good as you say then I'll rep every single contributor to this thread a few times.

If not

1000

I have no idea what this is supposed to indicate, but it makes me so uncomfortable to see

All of this. I watched the whole series throughout for the first time last year.. and it was fantastic. The finale esp. is just gripping and comes full circle, definitely finish it.

Glad there's some TV discussion going on in here :hat

Have you guys ever heard of anyone who DIDN'T like Entourage? One of my boys who never watched it due to lack of HBO (and torrent skills) and has just seen episodes on and off from spike didn't like anything about it. It has to be because the episodes are spread out and he doesn't understand what's going on, but still...?

:lol Wow. Movie looks explosive, fun, dumb, all that. Ill be seeing with the girl just because of Channing.

I might go see Olympus by myself. NEVER done that, but whatever.

Requiem for A Dream really have that deep of an effect on y'all?

Might have to check it out

Was the most recent Die Hard movie a gateway for them to turn the reigns over to his son?

Will all the next Die Hard movies be surrounding John McClain Jr? Thats the vibe I got

Probably the most intense episode was when he had to kill Ryan Chappelle :eek :{

I cried a hunnid tears when David Palmer and Michelle got murked :{

That's the one I was thinking of!

Palmer WAS intense man. I want to watch that episode RIGHT NOW.

Thank you amazon stream :hat

Anybody that says they saw that coming is lying. The way they set that up was perfect.

Yeesh, White House Down looked very possible epic fail. I hope it was just a poor preview.

"Roland Emmerich"

Oh. I've seen this movie before then.
