Just some random/pointless speculation: Do you think Chip and Howie disagreed on trading up for Mariota so much that Chip sought a bigger role in the organization so he could get his guy? I'm just trying to understand why this happened when it did. I hope I'm right though, give up everybody for Mariota.

Could be the case eagles have some trading chips if they want MM8.

Shady is only 26 I could see a team trading a 1st rounder for him, maybe our first and him to Oakland for their 1st. Foles could fetch a 2nd round pick in a trade. Then draft a RB in round 2-3 and have a 3 headed monster with Sproles and Polk while going heavy on defense in FA.

No one is trading a 1st rounder for Shady especially a team that's not ready for a couple years not to mention his contract is huge

RB's are the most abundant position in the NFL and easily replacable

McCoy has 3/27 left on his contract its not huge with the cap going up. $7.8 mill in the last year unguaranteed.

Nobody is giving you a 1st straight up it has to be a package deal.

And we're not getting a 1st for shady, my trade only works because it's lovie.. So I'm hoping his ole school ways and having previously had forte.. Maybe he thinks he doesn't have the time to wait to develop a qb

But I don't think mariota is our only option.. But the options are extremely limited

Look at the things chip has said he needs out of his QB before he gets to a "runner".. And after watching this offense as closely as I have these last two seasons, I get what he saying





"Continued accuracy", well obviously this is pretty easy.. The volume of the offense and the ease guys will and should be open.. You have to continually be accurate

"Smart".. This just boils down to finding that open guy wih all the options you are given.. If the safety is biting down on the run, well one of the guys should be coming open on the deeper part of the feild.. If the stay in coverage you either have the short to middle stuff or the backs or the bubble screens

And of course the covers taking care of the ball.. There shouldn't be a need to force things as much as sanchez and foles have these last two seasons


When you look at mariota, you saw all those things.. Him faking it to the bubble screen and then taking options elsewhere.. Or pulling it down and running it.. And then look at his turnover rate, there is no need to force things

Lovie isn't the gm over at Tampa though...as far as this draft goes..


There's a whole bunch of time between now and the draft. Chip might as well try and make a statement and go after HIS QB in this draft, even if it costs us a few notable players and/or future high picks.

He can still ball, but apparently he isn't happy with his role and especially being utilized more in the slot.
