There is certainly internal struggle behind the scenes in Philadelphia. I find Jeff Lurie to be a pawn in this entire fiasco.
He is a loyalty guy over success on the field, which is the main reason looking back why Andy Reid maintained his position through those dismal seasons. Chip is on an island to himself in this organization because Lurie wants HIS front office in place, and placates to his favorites more than the guy he took from Oregon..
Lurie has quietly annoyed me over the past few seasons with his inability to see the writing on the wall within the top brass, and his inability to allow restructure of the team if it meant the overall betterment of the organization as a whole..
Andy Reid was and still is a quality coach, but I felt Reid became way too complacent over the seasons following the Super Bowl. We haven't won a playoff game since 2008.
I think Lurie needs to get behind Chip completely and allow him to bring in staff he can actually WORK with, or just find a coach that will placate his opinions and philosophy to that of the owner, regardless of what his past tenures indicated.
