maintenance

dodge >> porsche ( supercars cost ALOT to keep in good shape, meanwhile dodge parts are affordable, and easy to find)

more standard equipment

dodge >> porsche ( Porsche will dead %+! try to charge you 300-500 dollars if you want da brake calipers to match da emblem of your steering wheel)

warranty

dodge >> porsche ( same argument as maintenance)

performance

tie ( srt8's especially now are animals)

price

dodge >> Porsche ( for what your getting in a fully loaded srt8 6.3 liter muscle sedan, you'd basically paying 2-3x more for da GT2 or da 4 door panamera)

Your comparing a heavy 4 door sedan to a TT H6 coupe that weights like 2.5K pounds. Also, assuming money isn't a factor, you would pick a AUTOMATIC Charger over a GT2? And saying their performance is equal is ludirous.

You're my man but that is completely ridiculous. NO ONE with any car sense is going to take a SRT8 Charger over a 911 GT2.

Reminds me of that Whips in Dubai thread a while back where dudes were saying they'd take a Nissan Skyline R34 over a Bugatti Veyron and all the other supercars in that thread, including Koenigseggs and Lamborghinis. I don't give a damn it's the V-Spec II, absolutely NO ONE besides a car-deficient chump is choosing the skyline over the supercars.

But would you take it over a Lamborghini, Ferrari, Audi R8, Porsche Carrera GT, Aston Martin, Bentley, Mercedes SLR or the other cars in that thread?

Most of the other cars in that thread could beat an R34 on the track (the R34 was the car in question. The R35 is one of my favorite vehicles and I'd take that over a Veyron) and all of them killed the R34 in terms of looks/status.

If you can afford a $250k car, maintenance shouldn't be a concern.

Standard equipment, again if you can't afford an additional $3k for a nav then you shouldn't be buying a $25k car.

Warranty, ummmm, that has nothing to do with maintenance. Both are covered pretty similar, Dodge will just likely break down more than Porsche. Porsche has been on the top of reliability ratings for years now, maybe even decades.

Performance....

Stop looking at numbers man, actually even if you look at the numbers the GT2 RS still kills the Charger.

As for price, well that really is the only thing the charger has on Porsche but if I can have one car int he world, no way in hell I'd choose the Charger over the GT2 RS.

Given the opportunity to tune the car to the it's maximum potential (handling & power output) I would definitely take an R34 over all of those listed (besides the Carrera, & that's my simply obsession for them
laugh.gif
). And yes, a stock R34 would get beat by all of those cars (depending on the track) but it was tremendous success for it's time period.

I'm honestly not that impressed by the Veyron, outside of the tremendous power and price tag, it really doesn't do it for me. I'd take the Aston Martin one-777 because at that point speed and power is probably going to be my last concern.

I'm right with you, the Veryon was built for the sole purpose of speed. Volkswagen sold econo-boxes (that's why don't have a true sports car in their line up) for years to fund the project. It's weight and lack of handling makes me shy away from that car.

so you're telling me if you're a working man, and not a millionaire you're not gonna take a HARD look at da SRT8 charger before you plunk down on a 2 seater roadster? cuz if i had 911 GT2 money i wouldn't cop it, i'd get me a ZL1 camaro or a used ZR1 corvette/ACR viper

I would without thinking twice about it...and I would wait until the Charger 392 was at least two years pre-owned.

If the 911 GT2 is your thing and your pockets are that deep, then by all means indulge.
But because you have the money for things, doesn't mean you have to spend it on a car that's going to cost you thousands to maintain.
No matter what my bank account looks like, I always make the value that I get top priority.
470HP, 4 piston brakes, room for the whole tribe, under $40K used...I'll take it everytime.

I assumed we were talking about a situation where we had enough money for both. If I'm strapped for cash, I wouldn't look at either, I'd buy a used WRX or something.

It's one thing to choose the SRT8 over the GT2 due to price, but if price isn't an issue, the GT2 wins hands down. Same with practicality. I assumed you weren't counting that either, since the two cars are polar opposites.

If I had GT2 money I'd buy a used Nissan GTR or a used Lamborghini Superleggera.

Co-sign... the Veyron really wouldn't be a car I'd be interested in even if I had all the money in the world. It's ugly and a straight-line rocket.

With a million, I'd choose a Koenigsegg CCX or a Pagani Zonda roadster. But I'd rather not spend $1 million on a car, so I'd take the Lamborghini Aventador or something similar.

Porsche has a much broader product line than Ferrari and Lamborghinni, they are simply not as exclusive. The Carrera GT or the upcoming 918 will draw crowds in a similar fashion as an Italia, Gallardo or Aventador. However, its likely that any day of the week you can see a Porsche, a Panamera, Boxter, Cayman, Cayenne etc. Despite how Lamborghinni !*%*!+ out the Gallardo (and Murcielago to a lesser extent) its still a relatively rare vehicle. Personally I think Lamborginni's are terrible, if I had dumb money I'd buy a hopped up 911 before anything out of Bologna.

ninjahood always gonna go for the bang for the buck argument.

I mean, its the only way someone can justify buying an American car over a Euro or Import.

The only thing I don't like about Lamborghinis is how every rapper has to have one, along with every rich person who doesn't know !%#+ about cars.

The fools moving around in bright colored Gallardos with matching 22" rims and the rich dudes who buy it just because there's a bull on the logo... it's not a good look but there's no doubt the cars are nice as hell.

Id pick up a Rarri before I picked up a Lambo.
The 360 forged F430.

Realistically (which is still a stretch
laugh.gif
) I would try to get a GTR in the future. Used of course.

Ferrari's are sick on the outside (458, 599 GTO), but the interiors are just so underwhelming.

The main consoles in those 2 cars are so small and cheap looking, it doesn't fit in with the rest of the car. I'd still love to own one though

Lamborghinni is all about excess, they are just so radical and over the top that I just couldnt see myself buying one (not that I have the money to anyway). IMO Lamborghinnni's are not enthusiast cars, they are just to made to be shown off. With that said they are nice, but for the money I think there are far nicer cars out there. Truthfully Lamborghinni lost me with all the "Special Editions" they released over the course of the last few years, buying a Valentino Balboni Gallardo guaranteed you had the baddest Gallardo on the block for all of 7 - 8 months, but hey at least its a modern supercar with a manual transmission so they deserve kudos for that.
