Porsche 911 GT2 RS on the streets of LA

Truthfully Lamborghinni lost me with all the "Special Editions" they released over the course of the last few years, buying a Valentino Balboni Gallardo guaranteed you had the baddest Gallardo on the block for all of 7 - 8 months, but hey at least its a modern supercar with a manual transmission so they deserve kudos for that.

Lamborghini is kind of a show-off car. But it's that radical design which is what makes them so amazing.

The thing with the special editions is it really isn't as bad as people are making them out to be. People accuse Lamborghini of "pimping" out their model line, especially the Gallardo, but other manufacturers do the same thing. Bugatti has something like 10 different editions of the Veyron. What Lamborghini does is instead of updating their current cars, they'll put the update into a later one and give it a new name. If they were to put the 5.2L V10 in the original Gallardo to replace the 5.0L, they would still release the same car. Except now it's called the LP560 instead of the Gallardo.

As for owning the baddest Lamborghini around, just owning one already puts you at the top of the car game (if that's what you care about), just because they are so rare. In places like LA or Miami you could get lost in the crowd, but having a Valentino Balboni or a Superleggera isn't going to help you stand out from the other waves of Gallardos around you. Owning a Gallardo, regardless of what model, is going to turn heads almost everywhere you go.

so you're telling me if you're a working man, and not a millionaire you're not gonna take a HARD look at da SRT8 charger before you plunk down on a 2 seater roadster? cuz if i had 911 GT2 money i wouldn't cop it, i'd get me a ZL1 camaro or a used ZR1 corvette/ACR viper

The average workin' man can't afford a gt2, period.

Or a 40k charger for that matter

This is a true apples to oranges comparison..seriously

maintenance

dodge >> porsche ( supercars cost ALOT to keep in good shape, meanwhile dodge parts are affordable, and easy to find)

more standard equipment

dodge >> porsche ( Porsche will dead %+! try to charge you 300-500 dollars if you want da brake calipers to match da emblem of your steering wheel)

warranty

dodge >> porsche ( same argument as maintenance)

performance

tie ( srt8's especially now are animals)

price

dodge >> Porsche ( for what your getting in a fully loaded srt8 6.3 liter muscle sedan, you'd basically paying 2-3x more for da GT2 or da 4 door panamera)

performance? nah dude. there is no way that charger is light... 400 + hp wont do you any good on a heavy car
i was able to keep up with my friends srt8 jeep.. and i have a wrx, not even a STi

really not impressed.. dont get me wrong im into imports/euros and all but i still have love for muscle cars

but the charger is not keeping up with the GT2, maybe the new ctv-s

plus belive me if maintenance is the issue i probably wouldnt be buying a car that i couldnt afford to keep up with

if i ever purchase a vehicle like this one, it will be because i know i have the funds, might even throw in a few mods and a tune just the hell of it

You're going to add the status symbol and the name into the discussion then it'll be completely different story. Of course no one is going to go after Ferrari or Lambo for that status symbol, those two brands have decades of history that cannot be matched. It'll be like a new watchmakers challenging Rolex, they can be innovative, look as good and perform better but a Rolex will still be a Rolex. You can't say that with the Porsche, they have the history, they're innovative and perform better. They look good too. Porsche is like Omega and Ferrari and Lambo isn't Patek, they're a Rolex. People still believe Rolex is the best because they look good and cost a lot and because it's what gives them that status symbol.

I honestly have no idea how Porsche is a tier below of Ferrari and Lambo. In terms of status symbol? In term of gaudiness? In terms of name? It's not that at all, these Italians isn't recognized and respected in the automotive world because of their name and because they are status symbols or their price. It's the whole package, they just do not compare performance-wise to Porsches but I think you are still putting these two Italian cars on a pedestal simply for their name and "prestige".

Oh and just to put it out there, if I were going to buy on looks alone, Aston Martin  wins hands down in my book.

u act like da dodge charger just ain't a mercedes benz E-class with a GIANT engine in it.

What the hell does the size of the engine have to for with anything besides added weight?... the 6.4 Hemi is the largest massed produced engine I can think of besides the 7.0 in the Z06 and is a mediocre V8 at best... GM's 6.2, Ford's 5.0, and BMW'S 4.0 are all very close in performance while being smaller engines... and its an E class?... what?... first off all of MB'S V8s are better than Dodge's... and... !@*$ it... I don't have time to argue such a stupid comment...

Ninjas right. Its not a stupid comment at all.

The "Chrysler LX platform" shares many parts with the E-class. Even the transmission is straight from a benz lolz.

Ferrari interior can be nice as hell. I've driven a 612 scaglietti and that was on par with Amy other luxury car.

Ninja you're wildin saying any dodge can hang with a gt2. Acr viper included.

Maybe it's personal preference, but this is not a good interior in my eyes

New Porsche 911 Carerra S fast as racy GT3

All-new Porsche 911 lops 13 seconds off its Nurburgring best lap time

THE new Porsche 911 is 13 seconds faster around the famed Nurburgring than the current model, lapping the German circuit in 7 min. 40 sec. in testing.

Porsche 911 vehicle line director August Achleitner said the new 911 Carrera S, armed with a 20mm lower sports suspension and regular tyres, was now as fast around the famed circuit as the previous generation’s race-ready 911 GT3.

The new 911, which made its public debut at the Frankfurt motor show this week, is due in Australia in March.

After a series of documented spats with Nissan over which car was faster at Nurburging, the 911 or the Nissan GT-R, with the Nissan now claiming a 7m 24 sec time, Porsche no longer seems worried about pressing for the fastest possible times.

“It is not so important for us; it is just for comparison (with the previous model),
