Might as well just use bicycle breaks if that's the case, no?

Nobody is saying tires don't also play a role. Saying bigger breaks are a gimmick is silly.

if a bicycle were to weigh the same, then I guess, yeah. I'm talking about upgrading, not swapping for example a ford ____'s brakes that weighs xxxx, on a chevy ____ that weighs xxxxx.

I only say tires because people think getting an expensive brake kit will make a single difference when it comes to panic stopping when a dumb taxi driver swerves in front of you. tires would, however

I def don't think they are a gimmick if you track regularly, at which point, i would assume that person has a dedicated track car, in which everything has to be upgraded. Other than that, yes I do say it's a gimmick.

Think of it like this.

Say your driving and you slam on the brakes (considering you don't have ABS), your wheels lock but your car doesn't stop - it keeps skidding. At this point, if you have grippier/stickier tires, your stopping distance will decrease.

Oh I definitely don't believe they're a gimmick and are definitely great for the track.

I'm just saying that brakes are only as good as your tires.

Bigger brakes = dissipate heat better = less brake fade.

speaking of bms, helped a homie install a bms intake in his 435 **** sounds soo nice

My boy has the bms intake and the turbo spool noise is nice

I just ordered mines last night.

Looking for downpipes and intercooler right now:smokin

Not sure how you feel about "Value brands" when it comes to performance parts but look into VRSF

My brother has the down pipes and im currently trying to convince him to pick up the intercooler. They get great reviews on the forums and don't have the high cost of the AR and others in that price range.

You'll eventually need better brakes, If you're doing power mods.

Some people put those horns on and don't eem connect them. That's even sillier.

But yea, the stock horn sucks.

Maybe for anyone that actually takes their car to the track regularly. But I completely disagree for daily driving in any power level, bigger brakes are never needed imo. Upgrading tires is what matters when it comes to stopping power. Brembos and all that are just gimmicks imo, again.

Lol wut?

BRB telling Brembo their products are pointless

And that's all bigger brakes are good for, what you said at the end. which anyone would ONLY need for regularly track/autoX. Other than that, bigger brakes do nothing. If you don't agree with this then you are trolling yourself by being lost. Do your research please, it honestly hurts me that my fellow NT'rs are acting this way :o
I love you all, and want you guys to be informed. Don't be misinformed. Jusy saying, I highly doubt anyone in here has ever seen a track, so don't upgrade and waste lots of $$$

Only on NT.

Where u can use bicycle brakes for a car since they don't make a difference.

Where a v8 will always trump v6 and 4 bangers even tho cars like gtrs make hemis look silly.

And where people will argue that a stock v6 will beat a stock v8 in the same car

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. Maybe you guys happened to have purchased bigger brakes and can't admit it was pointless? Idk.

Either way, gimmicks or not, I at least hope you guys know bigger brakes do absolutely nothing in stopping power, compared to your stock brakes.

Can we just agree with that, NT? Cause it's true.

NAWZLEW, you are the real Mvp for agreeing with me, thank you brotha, just know everyone in here might think you are dumb and a troll now. But thanks

You're right no one on this entire website has ever seen a track.

Maybe if you didn't just start posting in here today you would have seen multiple people post pictures while driving their car at the TRACK.

why do they put bigger brakes on certain cars if they dont have more stopping power?

so should all 18 wheelers now install brake rotors from small ecnoomy cars and there wont be any difference?

How do you dudes know about the brakes for a car that hasn't reached production yet though?
