What are you guys' though on buying cars with rebuilt engines?

Saw a 74 camaro for sale for 7k. Rebuilt engine. Looks good buy I have to idea how that kind of thing goes
see if he has paperwork for the motor being rebuilt and where it was rebuilt at.

was it rebuilt at a reputable shop, or was it rebuilt in Billy Joe's garage?

Yeah I'm going to email him about and find out. I may even go up there since its about 45 minutes away from me. But I'll definitely ask about the paperwork, thanks for the heads up about that.

What engine is it?

Most likely it would be a 350 and those are dumb easy to work on

I'm hoping so, I want it as a project car. Never worked on an engine before though, body might not be ready.

Not sure what the engine is though, I haven't reached out to the owner yet.

I feel like theirs a lot of definitions of rebuilt that people use. Ask them what they did to rebuild it. Post link or pics to show condition

Here's pics of the car + engine

And tires are the thing that create friction with the pavement when braking

Hence braking in snowy or rainy condidtions is not the same because the TIRE cant get friction with the pavement

nice car right?

:smh:
Well, they know what's up

But seriously why not work with what you have?

- More power
- Considerably lighter engine
- More bottom end torque
- Flatter torque and power curve
- Better reliability
- Less expensive aftermarket (in North America at least)

Owner likely blew the original engine and decided to replace it with a superior engine. Only advantage to the RB is its higher redline, but that's a moot point because the LS has such a flat curve that with proper gearing its easy to keep it in its power band.

I pretty much just came up with it myself.

Why he would ever do that to a skyline is beyond me.
So, I just classified it as so.

You can pretty much distinguish the "Google taught me" statements apart from the others.

 It should be pretty clear why he would want a superior engine as opposed to keeping that useless boat anchor.

I just noticed that the car has been converted to LHD too  So I don't think the owner is the least bit worried about value or keeping "the God machine of Nippon" all original.

He wanted a better engine, its not that hard to understand papa
