so you cant tune a NA car?

You can. But there's only so much you can do, you're better off IMO going with one of those chips that remove your rev and speed limiter and give you some kind of better map if they can achieve that. You'll barely see a difference in power gains from someone pro-tuning it.

Well thats not true but ok.

Yeah you can, the biggest power gain for most NA cars will be deleting the primary and secondary cats if your car has them. This just creates more air flow, other bolt ons like headers work well on some cars. Ive pretty much maxed out my NA power and I'm running a "Stage 2" tune which raised the rev and speed limiter and a few other things.

There's an example of what I just said.

Parts will give you power, not the tune itself although it can help it help it perform a bit better with minimal power gains compared to just freeing up as much air as possible. It's an NA engine, not a turbo engine.

I put parts in my car and I can blow it up without a tune. Something as simple as an air intake. But ok

Why ask me a question if you're not going to accept my answer? :lol
Strange. Instead of asking me, show me how tuning an NA car can net you three times its stock power level.

I can show you how tuning a turbo engine can do that and much more.

If you haven't even looked into that, you probably have no interest in modding.

Best advice: Save your warranty.

some weird and outrageous claims made in here

however cant wait to see this thing

Reminds me of the term "I need to get a tune-up".

I can see how it gets used EXTREMELY loosely now, though.

tune up actually refers to the car/truck being in tune/running smoothly

nothing to do with tuning/modding/customizing etc..

Precisely.

In order for turbo cars to be "in tune" you don't just change a few filters, flush fluids and change your spark plugs, etc.

That's called "proper maintenance".

In the other case, that would make your gas station mechanic a World Class Tuner.

well turbos arent exactly what it was meant for either

tune as in sound, an out of tune engine meant you needed a "tune-up"

which included spark plugs or other items, such as tuning a carb

mechanic/tuner same thing

And I never said there was anything wrong with using it as you please, you're just proving my point post after post.

Again, there is nothing wrong with it, but a "Tune" gets used VERY loosely and now I see why. I'm not arguing with you and you're just agreeing with me :lol

means the same to me

whether tuning/modifying, its still means changing parts to something different from the factory

We are not arguing though. There was a confusing on my behalf . But did the man not ask if you can tune a n/a engine?

It's like sometimes shop like to call their techs "engineers". Hey, let them do as they please. Who am I to say otherwise.

Will I agree with that title? No.
I've heard some of the most outlandish titles with "engineer" at the end that just has me like what?

In my view, if you don't have an engineering degree and aren't doing engineering work, you're not an engineer.

Will I come to your face and say "Hey, sir, you work for a tech company and call yourself an engineer but you're really not bro." Nah, man. Do you

Wasn't addressing you, but he did. And go look at my response.

100% absolutely agree, assuming you mean its from a top school and they work at a prestigious firm

And getting paid more than most entry-level engineers, or even engineers who have been in the game for a while but aren't really good at what they do, have passed your FE, and eventually become a PE.

But I just expect a lot from myself so I do of others as well.

Crazy how some folks can stumble upon much more lucrative & impactful careers ;)

But honestly have no idea who you mean.
