\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

^^Thanks to those who answered my question, but did you guys say the Mazda 3 because it looks better or is it indeed better in all aspects than the Matrix?

From those, the Mazda 3 Hatch. For all hatches, nobody is touching the Impreza Hatch or the Focus Hatch. Not even a golf.
I second on considering the Subaru Impreza hatchback.  It's a standard all-wheel drive which pretty much puts in above the rest in its segment.

Is it reliable and or cheap to repair?

Also if you go into a dealer and say that the car you want (newest model) isn't in stock in the color you want. Do they order it or are you sol and have to go to another dealer.

If it's a new car they'll order it for you, but you just have to wait. SOME salesmen may give you an additional discount if you are willing to get another color right away if you know how to bargain and talk to them. Someone I know was able to get a color for a car that normally costs extra for free because the color he wanted wasn't available.

What colors tend to cost extra?

Anyone have experiences with audi a3's? I have an '07 with about 55k miles. No mechanical issues, but wondering if I should sell now before the major problems start coming... Thanks in advance.

Get rid of it.

Friend of mine bought a brand new A3 (can't remember the year, but it has to be either your year or a few years earlier) and seriously, the issues just started piling up. Always in for service and repairs.

It will cost just a little more than the Mazda 3 or Matrix in terms of maintenance, but the driving experience in my opinion makes it worth it.  It's an all-wheel with a boxer engine.  What area will you be driving the car mostly?

If they don't have the color you want, of course you can order it.  Just like what the above person said, the salesperson may give you discounts on what they have on the lot to close the deal.

Seems like you are a first time buyer.  I would suggest that you test drive the cars you are considering.  Make sure that you are strong enough to walk off the lot and not get pushed by the salesperson to buy the car.  The salesperson will call you day after you walk off and to win your business.  If this is your first time, it is important to try them out, it would suck to have a buyer's remorse on a big purchase.

I have driven the Impreza and it is a fun car to drive.

Thanks for the advice. And this is my first car so I know I have to think it through. The Mazda would probably have to be used. If I buy knew it will be between a 13' Honda Sport fit or 13' Hyundai Accent SE.

I was stuck in the exact same situation. I decided on stacking some more paper and waiting it out to pick up a BRZ or FR-S. I'm not settling for that Si if I can get a BRZ/FR-S for nearly the same price. I wouldn't be able to live with that choice. I drive an '03 civic now, and it hurts to say that I will be leaving the Honda game

Subaru's will be a tad bit more expensive to repair but they are very reliable. Great cars and super fun to drive with the AWD. And the sound of the boxer engine, especially if you get a manual so you can rev it up to higher RPMs

If a dealer doesn't have your color they will usually trade with other dealers to get the one you want. For a more mass produced car like the impreza, you should be able to get it within a few days once they find another dealer to trade with. If not, then it should take a few weeks for it to come from the factory.

Its just living up here in the Northeast idk if I want a RWD as a Daily Driver (never driven rwd in winter before). plus the back seat in the brz/fr-s is hella small. I'd love to go with one of those tho, outside of a 06 civic i had for a few months, and this GTI (which i didnt drive for 3 years while I was in Japan) all I've driven are Toyota's (even in Japan lol) Looking at trade in value for the GTI, I'll prolly get between 8-10K so thats a nice lil down payment for my next so either of them would be a lot less price wise and payment wise.

Same, I'm from NY so driving in the snow would be annoying. But with the luck we've had on Long Island with barely any snow I'm willing to take the chance.

Copped the triple black '13 GT/CS last Saturday. I actually had one ordered, but Ford was bs'ing and the ETA date kept getting pushed back. I took upon myself to look around some more to find one I wanted on the lot. Crappy iPhone pics, but that's all I have for now. The front on the CS is :hat . The only thing I'm unsure about is whether or not I want to remove the side stripes. Currently waiting on the roush axleback to put on next weekend, will lower the car about 1"-1.5" and get some wider tires in the back. The car came with 245/45/19 Pirelli's .

I went to the tint shop yesterday. Tinted the side markers, reflector lights and 3rd brake light. 15% on the windows, 35% on the windshield. Car looks a 100% better with the dark tint. Unfortunately, these pics are two days before I got the tint :lol

Some idiot in a Dodge Ram rear ended me at a red light coming off the interestate ramp and totaled my car. It was a hit and run :{ . It happened on 12/30/12, so I only had the car for a little over a month. The good news is that no one was hurt in my vehicle (had a lady passenger). No soreness or anything. The vehicle could've been fixed, but the repairs exceeded the percentage amount that my insurance considers it totaled.

More good news is that I bought a '13 white GT/CS fully loaded for an even better deal this past Saturday. No pics yet. I've already installed my Roush mufflers on the car and will take it to the tint shop this weekend.

They never found out who hit me, there were no cameras at the interesection, etc. Luckily, I had gap insurance and everything was taken care of.. The crazy thing is that its usually a busy intersection, but there was no one around at the time the accident happened (about midnight). I was at the light for no more than 5-6 seconds and usually I look through my rear view mirror when there's more traffic out to avoid situations like this. I never saw this guy coming at all. I only heard the tires screeching and a second later BOOM.

WOW, thats terrible brah. especially a brand new car.

glad you and your friend are OK, thats all that matters honestly but hey you got a new car out of it now :lol

Yea, I couldn't complain with the way things turned out. I'm glad I was able to get a new one because having a wrecked vehicle that only had 1,500 miles on it would've been :x . My resale value would've been ruined.

so you ended up with a higher model or was your old on a CS too?

Both were a GT/CS. This one comes with the elctronic package, upgraded shaker pro stereo system and a car cover. Both had the comfort package (included the heat seats, projected mustang light underneath the side mirrors, etc) and remote start. So, I prety much got an extra $3K in upgrades on the new one, but ended up with pretty much the same note.

I was really thinking about going with the Boss, but they wasn't coming off too much on the Boss models at other dealers in the city. The one at the dealer I bought my Gt/CS from had the Laguna Seca model that had $50K on the sticker :x .

this is my first winter here in the northeast so i dont really know what its been like in the past. I was even thinking of getting the frs/brz and then getting a second beater car for the winter like an older integra or civic

If I where to buy a car from a dealer brand new under warranty will they fix anything that happens to the car mechanical wise? I want to see if i can get a stick shift car and since i cant drive stick if I where to say blow the clutch or transmission will they fix that? Basically this is the only way i see it possible to even learn how to drive stick, well for me anyways. So will i be covered for that? And how easy is it to burn out a new clutch or transmission assuming the car is brand new and that ill stall a few times while learning?
