Finally washed, Plain Jane
1000

Man I had a 2000, joint went through hell and back and I only had to do maintenance on it.

Great vehicle.

Trying to decide on a hot hatch in the $20k range, preferably something only a couple years old. Only ideas I really have are a Mazdaspeed 3 and a GTI. Leaning towards the 3 because of the power but thats gonna be a lot of torque steer...
I currently own a 2010 GTI.

Have you test drove each already? If you do it should make your choice alil easier...ahem..cough* cough* GTI....cough*

Hello folks!

Got a little new mod done.

Got a set of kooks headers put on the Jeep by the HEMISHOP. I took my Jeep in on the 5th and yesterday the 7th I picked it up and was on my way with a smile from ear to ear! It sounds so awesome. :D

Joe I'm trying to crack 400HP short of a supercharger what options do I have.

Cold Air Intake is probably your best option. Should get you to 400hp. Make sure you get it tuned after you install the CAI though. Because performance mods are completely useless without a tune afterwards

Go for the GTI or the Impreza Hatch. Matter of fact, get this:

http://www.ford.com/cars/focus/focusst/

It will outperform any of the cars you have listed. It has got a TON of power for only being a 2.0 4 banger

Do I go to a shop for a tune or grab one those diablosport joints when they come available for my model year?

A CAI will get you to 400 at the crank with a CMR tune. To the wheels 400, you're gonna need to do headers, heads, and cam. And the price to do H/H/C, you might as well get a blower. IMO

While I really like the Focus ST it hasn't been out long enough to come into my price range unfortunately, I also like the WRX but I haven't seen a decent low mile used one of them in the 20 range.

Good looks fellas,

I'mm stash some of my tax refund for the Trinity.

What's the best CAI, I'm leaning AirRaid but I IDK

I'm getting rid of my resonators Thursday

In all honesty, get one of these:

All a CAI is a filter, stainless steel piping and plastic tubing. Replace the tubing with better ones from Pepboys/Autozone for $15. Replace the filter for $50 and keep the stainless steel piping. You save over $100 and you have the EXACT same set up as the higher end ones. There's nothing really special to a CAI other than the filter they use.

Pay the money and go to a shop for the tune. They know what they are doing over there. Touching your cars ECU is risky business.

Ahh, I see. Yeah it's hard to find a used WRX for a low price because they hold their price so damn well. With the being said, go for the Impreza Sports hatch. My buddy has one and it is so damn smooth. That AWD is no joke, really grippy around turns.

And you can also never go wrong with the GTI. It's been the hot hatch king for quite some time and for good reason too.

Pro, you should join a challenger forum. they got all the answers for you. Air raid is not bad but im sure theres better options for same or near the price of a air raid.

and yes def get a trinity, so easy to do it yourself. Dont listen to AF1. its almost impossible to screw up a tune, hook it up and install... DONE!

The guy has a 40k car. IMO if you can afford that, you can afford the extra money to spend on mods and have them be top notch.

As far as the tune goes there is NO need to go to a shop and pay their rates. All you need to do is grab a copy of your stock tune, email it to Johan (guy does custom tuning and he works for D.S.) and he will email you back a CMR tune that you upload into the trinity (using the software you can download on the d.s. website) and then upload it to your vehicle.

Oh and SneakerPro, a good CAI maker for the Challys is a company called LMI (Legmaker Intakes).

Please go on lxforums.com, register, start asking and searching away.

I'm steering you in the right direction. Trust me I have had Mopars my whole life and am active on the forums.

He can do what he wants, but I am telling you, buying the entire kit from a higher end company is a complete waste. They are the EXACT same thing. If anything, buy their filter. $100 is a $100 regardless if you own a Honda Civic or a Challenger.

Yeah but its a better looking product that looks like it belongs in the engine bay. Hell I could have made my CAI but it wouldnt look like what I bought.

I rather spend the extra money on craftsmanship. IMO

But Sneakerpro can do what he wants.

Ahh, I see what you mean with the look in the bay. Does look a lot better. Personally, I don't give a damn what's under the hood. Nobody sees it. All that matters to me is performance.
