05fordgt 05fordgt You were right about 500k. That Murcielago sold for $525,000...Went for nearly double what it sold for just a little over a year ago. Wish I had that kind of money to buy a Murcielago, drive it for a year and then double my investment lol.

I knew it would do that. Just a matter of what it is, rarity, and lack of others for sale. If money was no object, I'd pay whatever I need to secure it, I love that color on that car so much!! Wonder if that could be a color that may be available on the Emira once Lotus opens up Bespoke colors in a few years. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

There's also a La Ferrari Aperta on BaT right now with over a week left to go and it's at nearly $5,000,000...

Personally I will never understand the price point on those. I get that it's fast...But the car is damn ugly...It's like they took a 458 and said how can we make this nice shape look worse?

Would much rather have an Enzo, F50, or F40 over a La Ferrari.

Not a fan. P1 and 918 look much nicer.

This is gonna do STUPID money (and it's already at $4.7M with 8 days to go still). It's cars like this on BaT that will really hurt normal auctions. Since most of the heavy hitters (RM, Sotheby's, Mecum, Russo & Steele) are 10% or so coming & going, this car would net the auction house some serious money. On BaT, a small listing fee, a few hundred for a professional photog & 200+ pics & $5,000 buyer's fee. They are revolutionizing the collector auto auction.

Yes man love that green.

Cars and coffee today.

This abomination! 😒 It's not even REMOTELY close to a GT40. I believe it's a 1970s kitcar that the name escapes me right now. Something GT. Most have a VW motor in them. The whole astetics are off as are the proportions.

Edit: got it. It's a Fiberfab Avenger GT. And yes, it's from the 70s or so. One of the original kit cars one could build. I'm cool if they kept the Fiberfab badges and such, but don't put a Ford badge on the car. 😒

Had the wonderful opportunity to go check out a not open to the general public yet, car collection/museum in Birdsboro PA. About 20 of us met mid morning for leisurely drive up. And when we got there, the museum has about 45-50 cars of all kinds owned by one individual. Some stuff one won't see again around these areas. And the people that went parked their own cool cars in the lot (which made it it's own Cars & Coffee). Anyhoo, on to the pics. 👍

I was wondering. Something didn't feel right to me but I'm not even remotely up on these so wasn't sure.

Counted 16 McLaren's today though. Great showing.

Overall CRAZY DAY! The EB110 was the exact cover car from R&T Worlds Fastest Car back in 1995 issue I believe. GreenGas was a prototype setup that Bugatti did to have to run on Propane. Just nuts. 288 GTO, MC12, F50, SE30, F512M!! 😳😳

And 2 CGTs and a 918. Just ridiculous. An overall fun day. The collection will be open sometime this summer for the public to come see, if anyone is remotely close in the area. It's worth a drive once it opens.

That orange GT3 > everything else (personally)

As with most ‘extreme opposite’ discussions, I think the answer can be a bit more moderate.

A lot of GM designers not working on the project shared a more moderate/disappointing view of the final full sized clay C8s.

Even though it’s hyperbolic writing, I think Robert Cumberford is on to something in this article describing his design analysis of it:

‘I’m deeply sorry to be severely disappointed by the styling of the C8. I hoped for something really new and exciting, not a boringly generic supercar, mostly indistinguishable from the many and varied unimaginative devices that show up regularly at the Geneva auto show. Its styling is confused—and downright messy in fact. I count a dozen horizontal lines, not to mention four convoluted taillights; four nice rectangular exhaust tips; plus varied slots, vents, grilles, indented surfaces, and wing elements . . . just across the rear fascia.’

I will say that this program had to be more practical/open to powertrain options/sensitive to ingress/egress than its design peers, which are going to lead to some visual compromises.

Ironically I think a full move to exclusive electrification will help any future variants of the Corvette in that regard.

Really contemplating trading in my civic and just getting the Camaro
BUT… this market is still ridiculous , sigh :smh:

The c-8 isn’t a “bad” looking car, it’s got some flattering angles, got some funky ones too….

It’s moreso the fact that the quintessential AMERICAN sports car is now an italian mash up….

The fact that it’s 60k makes it look ALOT better though
