but looking at it, theres def something wrong with it to be that cheap. even at the dealer. one with the same miles would be in the low 20's

That'd obviously retagged/rebuilt or some catch. Even if its the v6 5k on a se challenger is worth more than that. Its barely broken in

I know man dude should buy something that never depreciates like a G37....oh wait.

Why even respond to him? Dude never gets tired of acting like a beast in his women's 10K G Sedan. Recent year G37S coupes are being sold for 30K, 16K cheaper than brand new. Luxury cars are the worst in that sense, last year my mom bought her fully loaded 2012 E class for $42K just cause it had 8K miles on it :lol

Any advice on drivingg stick?

Stalled a couple times today, I was told to give a bit of gas and gradually let go of the clutch and simultaneously gas it as well. It was worked sometimes but I stalled. Am i just scared to give it too much gas?

I got the hang of it after watching a video, dude basically said to gas, let the clutch go and at the point where the car starts movig, leave the clutch whatever position it is in, gas more and when it moves gradually off the clutch. This worked much better for me?

Also, proper way to downshift on the highway? I found that 4th was the only gear suitable, which gear should i downshift fro X gear?

Go to an empty parking lot, put the car in gear and slowly let your left foot up until you start to figure out where the clutch starts to engage. Drill that engage point into your head. I'm sure you can figure out where to go from there..

Let me contribute..

a lot of times for new drivers, they are either not giving enough gas or letting the clutch out too early. gassing on a manual is a lot more sensitive than an auto and you should take practice getting it between 1-2k rpms. for the clutch, make sure the car is at a complete stop, put it in gear and slowly release the clutch without applying gas. feel where the car starts to give and put the clutch back in. do this until you get used to where the catching point is.

combine the both and good luck.

also, just because the car is moving does not mean you can remove your foot from the clutch right away. continue to slowly ease off it for a smoother start

you don't even have to do it simultaneously. just slowly let go of the clutch until the car starts rolling by itself like it would if you put an automatic into Drive and took your foot off the brake pedal. this is the "friction zone". if you keep your foot there, the car will keep rolling. if you let off the clutch anymore, it'll stall. you can start giving the car gas when it's in the friction zone and once it starts moving more, you can take your foot off the clutch. also, don't be scared to give it too much gas, because if you don't give it enough gas, you risk stalling out.once you find that "friction zone", everything is a piece of cake really. you'll get the hang of it in no time like that. that simultaneous bs can be confusing for no reason.

Dear god.

What that thang puttin out like 500 horses?

should be over 500 on pump gas

You in the DFW right?

Some rich old white dude up in Prosper. Dude was cool as hell. He's a muscle car guy from Michigan ironically enough. Wife pulled up in a Cobra right before we left.

I always said I would never buy used muscle but when you meet another car guy you just kinda know he took care of it.

Got me on the forums looking for mods for Da Hemi :{

So that one video I watched was right? Find that point in the clutch after you give it a little gas, "hang" the clutch at that point while giving more gas and eventually let go slowly.

Or do i even have to give it gas first? Can I just let go of the clutch, find that point before it stalls and THEN gas?

you don't even have to give it gas. next time you're in the car, just slowly let go of the clutch til the car starts moving. that's when you'll see where the friction zone is. at that point you can start giving it gas and the car will start moving. just don't let go of the clutch anymore past the friction zone without giving it any gas, because that's what'll make the car stall out.

any of you guys live in a state where you're supposed to have a front license plate, but choose not to anyway? have you ever been pulled over for it? thinking about taking off my front license plate bracket when I wrap my front bumper this weekend. always thought it looked a lot cleaner, but i'm not sure how strict the police can be about. i'm hoping it's like a tint ticket since I've always had illegal tint, but never got pulled over for it. I've been pulled over multiple times for speeding and they never even said anything about the tint.

So find that zone, hang the clutch, gas and when the car really starts to move then start to let the clutch go? Like literally dont move the clutch from that friction zone until I give enough gas to "catch" the engine?

nope im in cali.

get a blower.

i would say get headers adn exhaust but honestly loud exhausts are kind of annoying on a daily driver. i went with my friend on like an hour and a half trip and it was all freeway in his frs with exhaust and it got really annoying after a while.

im in cali and we need a front plate.

there was a period of like 3 months where i replaced the bumper and never put it back on and i wasnt harassed or anything

gotta be more easily.

stock its 420.

Its an automatic so stock it has 400. The guy has never dynoed the car but if I was a betting man I'd probably say around 500-525 to the wheels.

Everything should be smooth!  No quick movements until you get more comfortable with the car.  It's a total feel thing, you really have to hear and feel the catch point.   Keep the radio off, get to an area where nobody else is around, and try just feeling the clutch in first gear, don't even shift into second until you get a feel for your car.  Again always think smooth and really listen to your engine, the sound and the feel of the car is everything with a manual transmission.  Hardest gear change is 1st to 2nd.  Easiest gear change is 3rd to 4th.  Try to go from 1st to 2nd gear like 10 times in a row until you have this gear change down pat, and then you are going to be good to go!  One other piece of advice, really get used to starting and stopping and changing gears on a hill, that's the fun part with a standard!  Once you get this down you will never want to drive an auto again, no comparison.

You're over thinking this. You have the right idea, find the catch point. Then just give it gas while you let off the clutch. As was said before, do everything smoothly! The only way to learn is to do it and get a feel for it, there's only so much advice we can give. Within a week of driving you'll have it pretty much figured out

Go to a parking lot(orchard beach in the early am is good)

start vehicle

depress clutch

put vehicle in first gear

now here is where the learning starts

without using the gas, let the clutch out until the car is moving on its own

repeat this step until you can do this time and time again.

this exercise is teaching you how to modulate the clutch. Once you can do this you can start adding the gas pedal into the situation.

Good thing you're learning in a Civic. I had to learn in a 350z :{
