My man said character development and Goku :rollin
character development = Piccolo

and somewhat Vegeta.

Vegeta by far experienced the most development. Then came gohan then piccolo and then android 18. After that no one else experienced any real character development. They were pretty much the same person for the entire series.

So we're going to act like Goku coming to earth, being adopted by a human, being taught human ways, learning martial arts from Master Roshi and meeting Krillin developing a friendship, meeting bulma and getting married, meeting his arch nemesis piccolo only later to become an ally, having a son, meeting his biological brother and learning his true heritage and background, dying and meeting King Kai and learning new techniques in another world, coming back eclipsing everyone in power, going to another planet afterwards and unlocking legendary powers only thought to be a myth by the universe ain't the most character development in the series?

Ok.

****, I ain't even go past Freeza...

Please, tell me what Vegeta and Piccolo have done to scratch the surface of what Goku has done?

Oh, Vegeta's dad died and he learned to either roll with Goku or get his *** whooped :lol
You can phrase the events w/e way you want to. Goku shrugged off being a saiyan, having a brother, allying with Piccolo, dying, meeting king kai, and all that other ****. The second he bumped his head and had that personality change son has had no character development worthy of note. He doesn't reflect on ANY of the things that have gone on in his life. He just goes with the flow.

I think you're confusing what Goku has done with what character development is. It's about the character growing or being broken down and changing from how he originally was. Goku's character hasn't changed in those regards. He'll still do the right thing, he'll risk his life friends fam, and the Earth like he always has, he'll love a good fight, and ignore any of the complicated deep stuff.

Nothing happened on planet Namek other than Krillin dying and him getting some temporary pathos cuz you know dragon balls.

And throughout it all Goku stayed the same person. He had experiences but didn't develop from them personality-wise and that's what character development is about. All he learned was to not be naive and soft anymore and just finish opponents after his experiences with Frieza. That's it.

Ok, so since Vegeta and Piccolo were bad guys and became good guys they had development. But since Goku was a good guy the entire time he had none?

Goku's purpose in the series was the save the damn universe. Everyone else in the series were pawns added and removed in order to support him along the way. Whether Goku's personality changed or not, that doesn't dictate whether or not he developed through the series.

What the **** is that!?

Nah bruh, Malt o' Meal is better quality cereal. It tastes so much better than boxes of the same type. Case in point: Fruity Pebbles tastes like cardboard compared to Fruity Dino Bites. Only undesirable part of Malt o' Meal is the terrible name suggestions n knockoff clip art designs. But don't be fooled, **** tastes better n that's all that counts.

Not even. He still risked everybody's lives he killed buu and then immediately wished for him to come back to life as a human just so he could train him :lol :{

Son died and went to join a fighting tournament of all the dead warriors in the universe. He's just a fighting junkie.

It was Gohan who learned you gotta kill these villains and make sure they're dead when he saw his dad died for it *cough*again*cough*

Even after Buu, son went soft again.

And wtf is up with that poverty breakfast in a box that was posted above

Yes it does dictate that. We're talking about character development. Not just in general development where he goes from SS2 to fusions to SS3.

Vegeta shed real tears on planet Namek and came to terms with his mortality and ranking among the top fighters for a moment. That's not just bad guy becoming a good guy. Vegeta was still a bad guy then. Piccolo sacrificed himself to save his enemy's son who he bonded and cared for, then went on to reconcile with his good side and defend a planet he originally he wanted to take over.

It's not just cuz Goku was a good guy. Toriyama wrote him as a pretty shallow straightforward character. Plenty other good guys in other works of fiction get character development. Goku got little to none.

That was cuz after Cell, they spent like a damn decade on Earth with no problems or something. Gohan grew up raised by his moms, got a gf, an education, and got soft like she wanted. So he just didn't have that edge fighting wise

There was some whole bs about Goku coming to Earth and evil enemies would just keep coming to fight him so it'd be better off if he stayed dead.

I'm not even saying Gohan got more character development I'm just saying Goku didn't even really learn that lesson that you gotta kill your enemies. How many eps it took him to kill Freeza!!! Son spent what must've been hours on a dying planet trying to spare dudes life so he could power up and come back for revenge

As far as I see it character wise, Goku was just a talking Brolly. There to fight and get more powers with every new opponent.

a girl once told me that her parents never let her eat sugared cereal for breakfast and i genuinely felt bad for her

I never thought of it like that before but Goku really was just a talking Broly
roll.gif
All he did was fight and die. Every now and then he would feed Bulma the pipe and pretend to be a good father but in his heart he just wanted to be out fighting. He left his wife and kids behind to go spend the rest of his days fighting with a kid who was the reincarnation of someone who tried to kill everyone on earth
