Watching the episode after Kanaan died, Tyrique did tell Ghost he wants in. Ghost is frustrated cause he wants him not in this life. Tyrique said “your suit doesn’t change who you are”.

Thinking back on Tyrique’s character over the years this does make sense what he is doing in school now. He liked Kanaan for teaching him this life.

Ironically, Shawn was more of the kind of son Ghost wanted. Not involved.
