I had a local shop fix mine for $60, it lasted 3 months than died again, They fixed it again for FREE cuz it was within the 120 day warranty period, it lasted for 3 more months, lol. After that I bought a Slim.

Yakuza 4 to pummel faces on March 15

 

Sega surprised us this afternoon, updating its "Spring 2011" release window for Yakuza 4 in North America with a March 15 release date. The title will arrive exclusively on the PlayStation 3, and, as promised, will bring back hostess clubs that were missing from Yakuza 3's North American release.

A new trailer for March's mafia brawler was also released, showcasing the game's eccentric personalities and their flashy fighting moves. We'd be lying if we said we weren't most excited to play as Kazuma Kiryu -- he's the dude you see above totally flipping out.

Sounds like it's not even worth it anymore...aaah. I would do the reflow myself but a) I don't have a heat gun b) I feel like I won't even do it properly, even if I did. This was the refurb that Sony gave me too after my initial unit's disc drive went out...garbage

According to rumor listed in the latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine, Konami plans to release a Metal Gear Solid Trilogy in HD for PS3.

Yeah. Pretty much how it goes. Same thing with my fat PS3. YLOD... Had it fixed... and it subsequently broke down again and again and again. Went ahead and bought a Slim as well.

A source close to PS3-sense is claiming Sony will introduce a serial key system for PS3 games, like the one already in place with PC games.

According to the site’s source, this is Sony’s way of closing the backdoor to its system, which was blown wide open by hacker GeoHot earlier this month.

The source said that new games released for PS3 will include aunique serial key related to the specific disc, which then must beentered for verification before the game can be played. The key can beentered up to five times before it becomes useless.

If true, this has at least two implications for genuine consumers:it will restrict how many time a game can be authenticated, not tomention the impact it will have on used PS3 game sales.

Sony has supposedly already updated PS3’s firmware with the newprotection system, and is working on implementing it with new gamescoming out.

Older games without serial keys will, of course, still work the same.

We’ve sent a mail to Sony asking for confirmation.

I swear if this is true, these damn hackers are idiots. What if you want to play game over your friends house? What if you have multiple ps3s? I swear they tried this with digital copies of movies and I had to wipe my hard drive clean and now I can't use my Dark Knight.

Secret is just to move slowly, and be extra careful ...and some boss fight are easy ...

btw...the real Demon Soul starts when you beat the game once, and replay it

Demon Soul still one of my favorite games ...

Alright its not $150 anymore according to sony, it's $99+tax and that includes shipping. However, they won't give me the option of getting the slims so I'll be stuck with another 40gb again. I'm debating if I should just do that (this 40gb was a refurb after my og one's disc drive broke down within the one year period), 3 hundo for a slim though
