Epic Games boss open to Gears of War on PS3
A Gears of War trilogy on the PS3? It's possible. After years of enjoying exclusivity on Xbox 360, Epic Games President Mike Capps has stated he'd be very interested in porting the popular franchise to Sony's system. Not that it's even remotely close to happening, of course, but he'd be psyched if it did.
"I'd love to ship the Gears trilogy on PlayStation. That would be fun. I want to be there; I want to be everywhere," said Capps in a GDC interview with Industry Gamers.
Capps clarified his interest in porting Gears of War to the PS3 audience was in no way a slight against Microsoft, but instead a desire to reach out to a larger audience. In fact, said Capps, Epic's relationship with Microsoft has been exceptionally rosey from start, adding, “The amount of support they put behind Gears ... It was really to launch their platform, to show what Xbox 360 could do - the whole HD experience with Samsung. I think we really delivered that. So we continue to get love from Microsoft in a way that I don't think we could get from a publisher focused on cross-platform."
Though he denied any substance to his statements, Capps did note Epic Games owns Gears of War, and are therefore the ultimate masters of its destiny. We're sure if the studio ever wanted to pursue its PlayStation options, Sony wouldn't put up too much of a... resistance.
For now, Gears of War 3 is still on track for an exclusive, worldwide Xbox 360 release on September 20th

Seriously what's the point now of being a multiple console owner and having a XBOX 360 ? When most of their one time exclusive game franchises end up at some point going to the PS3.
Look at the list:
-Mass Effect 2 & 3
- Bioshock 1 & 2
The fact that this was even brought up & mentioned by Epic games at GDC could mean they might have something in the works and might make an announcement at E3 this year.
PS3 sales reach 41 million units
What's more exciting than a company dishing out impressive-sounding numbers? Like, nothing! And that's why we have Sony, which announced at GDC this week that over 41 million PS3s have been sold worldwide.
41.6 million, to be exact, said Sony Computer Entertainment America digital distribution manager Pierre Gravereau. Gravereau's presentation focused on the PlayStation Network, and why its an attractive platform for developers and other content providers.
Of particular note is that the vast majority of PS3 owners take their PS3s online - 80% are connected to the internet, according to Sony. That's a substantially higher rate than the Wii, which has the lowest connected rate of the three major consoles - although, of course, it's also sold the most, so its absolute number of connected users is a different story.
Last year, a study found that about 54% of Wii users took their consoles online, while the Xbox 360 ranked in at 73%. The PS3, at the time, had a 78% connected rate, according to the survey.
So even though there may be fewer PS3 consoles in homes around the globe, the majority of them are used to access online content, and many are accessed by more than one user. Despite only 41 million PS3s having been sold, there are more than 70 million PSN accounts.
PlayStation Store traffic, says Gravereau, has shot up by 60% over last year, leading to a 70% spike in digital revenue. He didn't provide exact numbers for these stats, but they sound impressive nonetheless.

Awesome. Nothing major, but just tweaking a few things.
Biggest one to me is not being able to manually turn off cloak. In some levels, I wouldnt know if I had turned it on or not, and would end up turning it off by accident.
Yeah, this one is huge, those games end so fast, and the gap time between rounds is too long in comparison. Keep it up, Geurilla!Originally Posted by SupremeApe
Dead Nation patch coming next week, adds voice chat and checkpoint saves
Dead Nation is terrific, but it has one shortcoming that many have considered a deal breaker: It lacks voice chat for online co-op play. That issue will be addressed in a new patch, to be deployed next Tuesday, March 7.
The title update will not only add voice chat, but a few other features, including the abilities to save at checkpoints (which should make those challenging final levels a little easier) and to copy save files to back them up. In its post on PlayStation Blog, Housemarque teases "further surprises" will be included, as well.

It is more than worth it.
The auto-downloading of patches function is almost worth the price alone.
