Planning a trip for my girl's 21st and PuertoRico is a destination she wants to go. Has anyone been? Any hot spots?

Appreciate any info

stay away from the inner city in san juan , they are robbing people left and right over there .

everytime i go i stay with fam but the nicest beaches i been to are in Farjardo and Mayaguez . everywhere is pretty much nice and in san juan theres lots of club and the nightlife is fun, just like i said stay away from the inner city.

watch a tego calderon video and you'll get a feel of what i mean

went to San Juan a month ago...

I did a kayaking tour through the bioluminescent bay and it was hands down one of the coolest things i've ever done. definitely recommend it.

also hiked through the rainforest in Fajardo. the hotel I stayed in was the La Concha Renaissance very nice, clean modern hotel.

as for a 21st birthday there are bars and clubs everywhere. the nightlife was pretty epic and there was also some festival going on the week i was there so there was always something going on. every hotel has a casino and usually a bar.

i went to the inner city to find some authentic food (most food spots near the hotels are mostly straight up american) and contrary to others beliefs I didnt get robbed (smh). Walked through the slums, found a legit place to eat and it was the best food i had while there.  Just dont look like an easy target and you'll be cool.

overall it was a great trip..i'd go back and i'd seriously consider moving there after i graduated lol no taxes etc.

Dope place to go...was planning on heading back this fall if I can get some leave. The women, food, beaches, nightlife are all on point.

Drink some rum, eat some mofongo, gamble a little bit, hit the beach...and enjoy the women.

I went a couple months ago and had fun. I expected more of a party, but it was cool.
We went to some bar/club that looked like the hood called La Respuesta or sumn and it was real cool if you like hip hop

I went last year or the year before... I wasn't feeling it, but I went with two buddies so.

Most of the girls in the strip clubs are Hoovers (coke heads) and they're flaca (really skinny with no curves).

Maybe I have to go with someone who has fam back there to enjoy it like that.

It wasn't bad bad, but I'd go back there with a chick instead of with buddies or maybe if it was a group trip.

I had a lot more fun in DR, but you're going wtih wifey so should be alright.

I went a few years back with my parents since my dad is puerto rican. Check out El Yunque rainforest and stay in the Old San Juan area. We stayed over at El Covenento and loved it, it has a really old spanish..kinda creepy feel to it, but it's beautiful. We kind of were on a road trip for two weeks and just explored the entire island. Check out Cabo Rojo if you want to see some really amazing cliffs and definitely try to do the kayaking the poster above mentioned. I've always wanted to, but have never been able to. I'm not sure what your budget it, but we also stayed at El Conquistador and I swear it's one of the best hotels I've ever been to, they even have their own private island.

I need to go back to PR. :smh:

Going with my girl and two other couples, i'm pratically being forced. I don't really wanna go cause I think it's gonna be one of those places that look good but probably end up being bored. I'm not trying to ruin anyone else's trip but I just have a feeling it's not gonna be what it's hyped up to be but i'm gonna try to enjoy it. :smh:

Whatttttttttttt.....bored in PR? You must be crazy. You are not going to Kansas or some farm country in the midwest of the U.S. Come on.

Lol ok ok, i'll give it a fair chance. I was just basing it off of a horrible experience in St. Marteen

just went last month for the first time. biobay was definitely worth it, i highly recommend it and take the later tour so you can see the glow better. The rainforest was a bit disappointing, nothing out of the ordinary with the occasional waterfall. Old san juan was good for sight seeing and the forts were cool. Was wit the fam so didn't get to experience the nightlife so I can really judge. Overall good experience if you looking to relax and get away, probably better places to go if you wanna party. I was fortunate enough to stay at st regis which was by far the nicest hotel ive ever stayed at and the people were extremely friendly both on and off the resort.

went back in april and it was ok places we went to el yunque which is a must, trip to culebra was amazing i recommend you do that and thats basically it el condado is a nice place to walk around and old san juan which has all the history

im black..was treated great by employees and locals.

depending on your complexion most people might assume you're a native

People thought I was native and talked to me in Spanish...they figured out I wasn't before I finished my first sentence in Spanish

I always have a great time when I go, I try to go at least once a year. I love el condado beach, the women are bad, food is great and the atmosphere is nice. I've been in both the tourist parts and the local parts due to friends having a family over there. I stayed at La Concha which i enjoy and the lobby turns into a club/lounge at night. The women and the casino being a few feet away are both appreciated. What info do you need help with clubs, casino, restaurants, excursions?

We come in all shades from white as paper to dark as night  just act like you belong and youll be fine.

Just like when visiting any country just stay away from the barrio and you should be fine

I stayed at the Intercontinental which is right next to the El San Juan Hotel. The El San Juan was aaaaaaalways poppin.

I went to walmart, and all of the girls working were:smokin. The girls who worked at the mall, CVS, Burger King, and everywhere else were beautiful. I felt like I was in heaven.

My friend played for the Bayomon Cowboys which is professional basketball team. Groupies like crazy.

I LOVED it there. Would definitely move there.
