R.I.P Trayvon

Lol at these ****** and their attempts to paint the picture that he was dazed and confused from being beat up....

son did the Frankenstein walk....

State gonna clear up the context of "confused".... she's clearly saying confused as in "aw ****, wtf i get myself into" ..... vs him being punch-drunk

Prosecution needed to make up for the fact they had that mammoth "Dee Dee" on the stand.

Good job with at least some eye candy :smokin

Do you know if they still taking the stand

Cuz in that interview they said the police didn't want to take there statement

It made the news so I hope they still do

If not you already know

State needed her

I suppose she was the real "star" witness for them thus far

Iono, before the trial started they were the only witnesses I knew about other than the girl Trayvon was talking to on the phone.

It's disgusting how the story has become about this girl. Even on liberal tv. Everyone judging her. It's become a joke

I'm sorry, but Rachel Jeantel being the star witness was not a very good move.

where did that "star witness" tag come from, is it just the media?  I feel like they just pinned that on her due to the explosive nature of her testimony

not necessarily what she had to say

It is mostly the media. Being a star witness is just by circumstance -- you happen to be the most important witness and both parties know it. In every trial, there are usually 1-2 witnesses who have the most relevant information to testify to. In this case, it was Rachel since she heard parts of the conversation between GZ and TM.

:lol People on here are acting like a star witness is like having a franchise tag. There aren't any special rules for "star witnesses."

IMO it was stupid to call Rachel the "star witness" in the first place considering she didn't actually "witness" anything.  Yes, I know she was the last person to speak to Martin, but she wasn't physically there, nor was she even on the phone when the crime in question (2nd degree murder) occurred.

There's NO way she should've been on the stand that long, the defense recognized the fact she wasn't very articulate and tried to run her into the ground and didn't even do that successfully.

To me the key witnesses are the people who saw Martin and GZ fighting/wrestling before the shot went off.  Not to mention the ballistics experts to determine which way the bullet entered and exited Martin's body.  It would be very tough for the defense to pull the "self defense" card it's determined Zimmerman shot down onto Martin.

Just my 2 cents.

I can't see why the media deemed her a star witness for any other reason than the way she came off yesterday

if her testimony was the same, just not as inflammatory would that still be so?

I started to see "star witness" labels from the media prior to her testimony

Really dont know where it came from but it seems they expected her to be a big benefit for the prosecutors, and maybe that was passed around the media circles

I think the reason they kept her on so long was because of her character. She was talking as if she had no sense of where she was. They said that was his girlfriend. While she spoke I know for a fact the jury was wondering what kind of person trayvon was if this was his girlfriend. IMO.
