Since he got suspend from the Political thread for name calling and being racist and xenophobic (surprise, surprise), I have enjoyed not having to deal with him. And to that end, I will resisting engaging with his buffoonery as best as I can in the future. Being offensive of race issue comes so easily for him and I realize I can't convince someone who take such pride and is so arrogant about his racial ignorance.
-One thing I will comment on is that I disagree with the sentiment that NT is moderated worst nowadays, in fact I think it is moderated better. Meth just gives more chances now, more chances on everything. So what could have got your clipped in the past now gets a warning, or suspension, maybe even a deleted post. There was an asymmetry in Dirty's moderation I didn't like, and many took issue with.
The balancing act comes with race trolls, and the area becomes murkier with politics. A ton of race trolls in NT's history love to dish it, but when the clap-back comes they play victim. They are like the Whites from the recent episode of South Park. They claim their views are somehow suppressed, they can't talk freely and they are tired of being called racist. Even though they are blatantly making racist comments. Some dudes that just believe racist stuff, but truly don't think it is racist, and are tired of getting called out on it just stop posting that kinda stuff. But the trolls can't help themselves are the continue to bait and antagonize.
Now in the interim, between the time they start the comments and get clipped, is where I disagree with how they should be treated. I get everyone gets chances but not all chances are the same and other posters especially black posters have to deal with race trolls for months or years until the Mod team feels enough is enough and that they have crossed the line. The Mod team has set the threshold for that much higher than I would like. Like every race troll on NT has probably been labeld a racist by other members way before they finally got clipped.
Now I understand Meth's reason for it, I respect it, but I the amount of rope they give dudes (especially after they play the victim act) to me is a little to much imo. But hey, not my site and like Meth has reminded me I have gotten breaks too. So I can't complain too much
Ninja is the person that causes the friction in moderation when it comes to race. Me and plenty of other people, not just the political thread, thinks he has crossed too many lines, said to much vile ****, mainly to antagonize, and gotten too many breaks.
