Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

the legend of J Prince is really incredible, i'm from Houston, had family that went to school with him said he was about business even in high school
there's rumors about him having a pig farm where bodies go

peep him wave off the guy carrying what looks like a double barrell in this video

The Godfather

I like ayo technology, timbo and Timberlake killed the beat and chorus.

I always thought Tim and Justin shoulda gave that song to T.I.

I ****ed with Amusement Park .

Original with Jim and Max >>>>

I ****ed with Amusement Park and Straight to the Bank. Wasn't really ****in with Ayo Tech but it was cool. Album had a lot of misses but I was still messing with it. Man Down was on repeat, I Get Money was on repeat for like a month.

I Get Money, Man Down, Touch The Sky, and All Of Me with Mary J were the only songs I was feeling. Mary J killed that hook and the beat was nice. The rest though....good lord. Looking at the producer list, you thought that album would be automatic fire, but it was an overall dud. Peep Show with Eminem and Fire with Young Buck and Nicole Scherzinger back to back

how do we feel about The Massacre btw

I liked it, it wasn’t GRODT but I don’t say that in a bad way, it had a lot more soulful beats. The album itself could’ve cut 3-4 songs and been fine, off top, Gatman and Robbin was terrible, Build You Up wasn’t necessary, Hate it or Love it would’ve been perfect on the album (as opposed to the remix), Position of Power was COLD, Just a Lil Bit and Disco Inferno was redundant being back to back on the album

Massacre still dope to me

I don’t need em’ is STILL fire. I still whistle that beat to this day.

Ski Mask Way
Baltimore Love Thing
God Gave Me Style
I’m supposed to die tonight
Disco Inferno
Position of Power
Get In My Car
This Is 50
I DONT NEED EM

I’m about to run this back today.

I Don’t Need Em’ had so many quotables.

“I push it to the limit take this **** to the max
Navy blue vest on navy blue Yankee hat
Calm. In my palm fully loaded firearm
First to let off last to run every time it’s on”

“What!? Nig-***** is there *click clack* is there a mother ******* problem *****?! Oh. Yeah. That’s what I -- I thought so. P****”

“When I say move, ***** move!
Or get caught in the crossfire
Hopped a fence runnin', cut my ****in' hand on the barbed wire
****'s crazy, it's just a different day it's the same ****
Hollow-tip part in yo' head, leave your whole ****in' brain split
They sick, they see me in that Aston Martin
What's the matter? They can't get that hooptie started?!”

“What? Who said they was gon do something to me?! Must be out yo rabbit *** mind... **** around and kill one of these ******”

A real question for those who aren't supporting Kanye off "Principle" Are ya'll still listening to Pusha? are ya'll Gonna listen to Cudi? Are ya'll gonna listen to Nas? because it's well known that he's producing these albums & it's a collaborative effort that's surely feeding his pockets.

Yes they haven't stood behind all Kanye's ideas & agreed with his entire rhetoric... Kanye didn't agree with all of Trumps rhetoric or none of his policies either.... People were upset because he put his name next to Trump at all, Claiming it's dangerous ideology & they can't support it. Fine by me that's an individual choice. However Wouldn't Supporting Pusha & Nas be the same as supporting Kanye, & in return supporting his "dangerous ideologies" ?

This isn't even directed at anyone in here, but i'm seeing a lot of fake "principles" on social meda when it comes to this. I rather ****** just keep it a buck & say Kanye ain't making music i like enough anymore, Then trying this fake *** Moral high ground. Knowing damn well they tweeting & supporting projects that directly benefit Kanye & will continue to help him spread his "dangerous ideology"

Push, yeah. I gave that project a few spins. I’ll play Nas’ also. But I respect those artists and their content. I can disassociate them from the people producing their records. Definitely not peeping the Ye/Cudi, or the Teyana joint. No slight to Teyana though. She just doesn’t make music for me.

That’s like asking if I’d still play Hov since he worked with Rick Ruben. Or Wiz with We Them Boys/ Ray J & Berg with Sexy Can I (f y’all that track was a hit ) because that other weird Detail dude made beats for them.

I don’t care for Ye. The difference is that I believe these cats could rap at the same level, if not a higher level, on beats produced by others. Sure I would prefer cats go elsewhere for beats, but who the hell am I?

I’m actually really interested in hearing the Teyana project she’s talented, Good Music/Def Jam is just trash man

Seriously, outside of Big Sean who have they really did anything with since the Def Jam deal?

****** don’t really stand on morals when it comes to entertainment/music

People are just infatuated with this “cancel culture” thats popular now

Even if someone saying they not listening to an album, thats just not always true

If people really stood on those morals, they wouldn’t engage in a lot of the resources they do, and a lot more entertainers would be out the paint

Listening to Kanye and listening to Pusha and NaS are very different. Most of these rappers and singer are signed to a label owned and ran by a racist white guy so it is what it is. I won’t play Kanye’s music or stream or download. I’ve bought every Pusha album and every NaS CD so this is interesting

I hope this Nas album is fire. At 7 tracks I’m a little nervous. Last EP from Nas close to this length was ....

Especially after that 9th and BT album; this Nas album better be BAR’d up.

Again this is only for someone to answer if they didn't listen to Ye's album because they were standing on "principle" and not putting money in his pockets because of "his message". If you simply don't wanna listen to Kanye's music because you don't like it then that's completely fine.

This is more to those "How dare black people support Kanye" Cats, who are supporting projects & people who directly support Kanye. Everybody was up in arms about Kanye's dangerous "ideology" & the spread of it.

Pusha stated he doesn't agree with Kanye's thoughts or his statements, With that said he's still sharing his platform & supporting Kanye. So wouldn't that make artist like Him & Nas guilty of funding & helping this ideology grow?

I'm just trying to see how someone can not agree with that but in the very same sentence blame Kanye for widening Trumps platform.

This is my point man, i'm sick of these ****** talkin like these decisions are made out of morality. They're made because some people think Kanye's music is trash & no longer want to hear it. Dudes will tell you that Kanye Shouldn't be allowed to eat anymore & be on their 100th pair of Nike. Like Nike ain't been violating peoples human rights & human labor laws for 30+ years.

We ALL turn a blind eye to negative aspects of things we like if the product is good enough

****** act like like ppl BEEN not F’n with YE on a musical level for a minute....and the recent personal **** makes it easier to not check for him :lol.

Ain’t even about “moral” ****. Wayne one of my favorites....I have no desire to check for him past 2010. He too said some dumb ****.. That makes it easier for me to tune out.
