Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Wait, so if Drake wrote Kanye chorus, and Drake don't write, it still might be Quentin, who cool with Pusha, who look like Malice, who turn Christian, so he follows Jesus, who walks wit Kanye?? Written by Rhymefest?????....

That’s funny because Yikes is the only track I’ve heard also and it’s crazy because I just saw Pierre insinuate he produced it and didn’t get his credit for it. :smh: NT been hyping him for a min, if everyone is saying that’s the best track on Ye...he’s about to really be outta here...y’all called it.

You can tell Pierre prolly did help with it cause his go to sounds are on the beat, its the same 808 thats he uses a lot and that roar

Whatever anybody brings to the table ultimately gets flipped by Mike Dean tho he touches every beat at the end of the day

Man I used to listen to a lot of Bay Area and Cali rappers:

Rass Kass, Mack 10, Snoop, Kurupt, Dog Pound, Sugar Free, Mc Eiht, DJ Quick, Cube, Dre, Warren G, Dove Shack, Above the Law, Compton Most Wanted, soul of Mischief, MC Breed, pharcyde, ants banks, bad ***, bloods & crips, DJ Pooh, Jayo Felony, south Central Cartel

E-40, MAC Mall, B-Legit, Celly Cel, Domino, Goldy, JT, Luniz, Yuckmouth, Rappin 4 Tay, Spice 1, Suga T, Too Short (who’s actually from Louisiana), 3x Krazy, Brotha Lynch, Dru Down, Richie Rich, The Click, Goldy

Bro me too, ALL of these.

We must be from the same generation lol

Timing was terrible. I was waiting on this, then the whole damn roster left a couple months before it dropped. Barely had any features and most of the features were trash.

Cash Money had a lot of misses after the Turk album. They really got lucky that Wayne got hot all of the sudden. They'd be done if he faded out.

Yep. Cash Money from 00 and back was great, particularly 96-99. Cash Money 2001 was ok. Just didn’t have the same feeling with so many lineup changes (though I thought Mack 10’s album was dope and perfectly merged Dre and Mannie Fresh beats). There were some good songs here and there, but I just didn’t like the direction they were going after their peak. And I don’t cause even refer to 2009-present as Cash Money. That’s just Young Money garbage.

Somebody make the Rich The Kid-less version. I can’t take these squeaky stepped on kittens voiced dudes in rap

Waving off a goon with a gun when there's a bunch of cameras outside is nothing special.

in retrospect, 9-11-07 was the last day of street hip hop dominating, after that, the emo/nerd era was ushered in

why did Curtis (album) have to be mediocre :smh:
