I disagree too. I think both have made music for themselves that have the stuff they give away beat in anything but commercial success, and that highlight their individual unique artistic touches in ways that few other artists would pull off if handed the words and instrumental.
Tory would fit in between JMSN (I forgot how much people felt like he was a Weeknd rip-off back with Priscilla) and Party. I remember hearing "Sextacy" and seeing whatever tape it was on catch some blog looks in 2012.
