Ye was looking real...”powerful” in that 2010-2011 run between Occupy Wall Street, Rosewood/MBDTF, Black excellence...all next to Jay

Ye fell off something serious since he started whining about europe and fashion

Lowkey the sway moment before Yeezus was the moment where in retrospect. we lost him.

he was too in his feelings about white boys not letting him play when he coulda big cartel’d from the ground up like his boy Taz.

I get its a difference between urban/streetwear and high fashion...but as we approach the end of the decade i don’t even think people look at YEEZY as high fashion, they like the shoes and the clothes are better when ASOS does them bc at least you getting your moneys worth :lol

I remember reading somewhere else that there were whispers that it was Baby who tried to murk Ross. That's why he started going so hard dissing him. Not sure how true that is though.

Ross is going to have to spell it out and incriminate himself so people can call him dumb before people let him live

He wouldn’t be able to move around in Florida if he was playing a character for 20 years

Who from FLA has gone against him? he got shot at one time in a decade of being popping and that seemed to be from the GD ****

Trick went at him for a bit

and if you know or pay the right people of course you can live. There's numerous instances in rap.

He went from

Wouldn’t doubt this.

Fact of the matter is tho, he just aint cut from the same cloth as them.

What you mean?

Diddy and Kanye’s upbringing wasn’t that different aside from why their fathers were absent.

Jay going freeform won't normalize anything in the workplace.

I feel like a lot of white dudes who were 18-25 in the 90’s are entering their 40’s and 50’s now and have been fans of hov this whole time and it kinda changes the image of who they usually associate with dreadlocks.

But youre right if they were thinking like that to begin with...

But...he quite literally is playing a character  Rick Ross has been around for a long time before he popped...and was running with an entirely different gimmick.

He adopted a new theme and it worked out for him. I'm not pretending to know much about the "Boobie Boys"...but I'm guessing they were the original "backing" behind Rick Ross the same way every other street rapper has had a real criminal element behind the scenes. Joe Budden spoke on this not too long ago and how far this goes back.

But ya'll need to end this whole idea of this ***** being a "crooked CO that was letting the dope get in da prisons" go  It's ok that he's a regular ***** who's smart and made the rap business work for him. Does believing in the myth add to the listening experience?

Naw, it shows he's been in character for 15 years. He was clout chasing.

That's why 50 has been messing with him for ten years

This also explains the Suge/Russsell story

Ross a fraud and believes his own raps at this point. Basically the fans said we don't care you a fraud, we like your beats and ad-libs so it's cool. Now he's in some of y'alls top 10-15. I can't even listen to that bozo.

I remember 50 had all Ross paperwork online at one point. It was around Ross second or third album. He was so broke and in debt. Wearing fake ****. It was all his taxes or some ****. It was funny hearing about him rapping about all this **** that he didn't have hoping to make it and he eventually did.

TI, Jeezy and Trick didn't **** with him cause he was fake but a lot of the fans didn't care and were still ****in with him so they ended up caving.

i mean that seems like a generic movie placement/radio feature type verse and even then he’s calling himself “The Boss”

first 40 seconds

and i already assume he wasnt no kingpin type dude

but i also feel like no street ***** would align themselves with what he had going on if it was as black and white as 50 made it seem

Ross wouldn't have been in a nationwide video squeezed in a authentic if he was this boss.

Where's the cubans and shades?

All in they dumb raps, talking about how they funds stack
When I see them in the street, I don't see none of that
Damn playboy, where the **** is the hummer at?
Where is all the ice with all the platinum under that?
Those ain't Rolex diamonds, what the **** you done to that?

Re: about nobody from Florida calling him out...didn't Trick Daddy call out Ross?

LOL.

You forgot about 69 already?

Street _s will align themselves with ANYONE they can get a bag from

outside of the fact that he had rainbow hair which honestly probably was even more of a draw for Treyway marketing wise

what was really so crazy about them standing next to 69 like it would be crazy for them to stand next to a correctional officer...regular around the way ***** who probably wasnt outside like that but just around and someone came across a naive kid wanting to be down and make it in rap
