Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

RD is probably the better album

I started listening to Jay around Vol. 1 so I always go back to that one, outside of “I Know What Girls Like”, I let it ride thru
Vol. 1 is great. The Intro, Imaginary Players and Where I'm From are some of my fav Jay songs but Reasonable Doubt is a cohesive hustler life story.

Dead Presidents, D'Evils, Can I Live, Coming Of Age, Bring It On, Regrets. Different level of music.

Its time for me to revisit some classics. I never had Volume 1 that high on my ranking. Album has some of his best music and the other half is ehhh. Puff was tripping for giving him The City is Mine and I know what girls like. The pop appeal kinds messed that album up for me

10 year old me was so put off by City Is Mine, Sunshine, and I Know What Girls Like, that I don’t think I listened to that album again until Jay/Nas were beefing :lol

After this, it didn't matter what was on the album. FIRE.
