Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Tidal ain't even ever done **** but provide the music, dope content from the artists and pay them better than other streaming, weird where the hate comes from.

people again with that crab in the barrel mentality, not to mention a lot of people fell for the apple sponsored hit pieces.... & because so many people are followers they though it was the "cool" thing to hate on it.

Salute to Maino. Definitely salute to the cats he named. There are a couple others who come to mind who are worthy of being added to that list:

Nick Cannon, Ross, Tech N9ne, Kiss and Styles P, Slim Thug, Chamillionaire, Nas, Big Boi...

Matter of fact, no point in going into a list because I’ll undoubtedly forget some worthy folks who are doing their thing, promoting independence and ownership, and uplifting their communities at large. So salute to everyone doing it. :smokin

It’s a beautiful thing to see the concepts like OWNERSHIP and INDEPENDENCE being at the forefront of hip hop. I love that ****. :smokin

Carti grew on me too (as long as it's under 12 songs)

Idk the prices now but when they first dropped they didn't have the content to back that high price they charged

Have been using Tidal for more than a year, have no issues at all. Playlists and content are phenomenal too.

No way in hell I was going to give my money to the others before supporting our own, especially at the exact same price.

Can’t stop listening to these 2 beatking X gangsta boo mixtapes

They're real dope. It's crazy the first time they did tracks together, it was just Beatking sending Boo beats and his verses to put with hers, and never actually met in person til they were getting ready for that second album :lol

:smokin U heard the man

I would prefer the 6god and Kendrick but this will do :pimp: I think cole is tired of being called boring so he may come with it. It seems like this new album he bout to drop isn’t gonna be all preachy like the last two (judging off the single)

Ever since Nick Cannon backed away from america’s got talent when they tried to censor what he could say as a black man, about being a black man, during his stand up special, I started looking at homie in a new light. Think I listened to a combat Jack episode where he was the guest and had a new respek for dude. Seems to have really been on the grind for a minute and on the independence wave early, having owned stakes in Nickelodeon, Radio Shack, etc. I can never knock a black man out there doing the right thing.

And quiet as kept, the man realizing that his education is as important as any of his monetary assets (if not more so) is some commendable ****. Every so often we see cats getting honorary degrees, and that’s a good look in and of itself. But I respek son going back to Howard and earning a degree like a normal student. Homie got millions of dollars and is on tv multiple times weekly, but makes it down to DC weekly for classes. That’s dope. Homie solid in my book. Would definitely recommend you all check out some of the Cannon’s Class videos that he drops on YouTube where he sits with some of the Howard professors, as well as other black figures, to discuss some legit topics.

With all that being said, his music is still forever trash.
