Think it really started when cats did away with choruses.
I can think of a few cats who’ve been on that wave for the past four years.
Think of Kodak’s No Flockin. Joint is hard, but only 2 mins and 45 seconds.
I think Future's 3 Peat had a hand in it too. When Future really got hot with Beast Mode and 56 Nights. Short projects, short songs.
Baller is king grumpy but this is true.
These short songs are product of this being the biting era. Everybody follows what's hot. Short gimmick catchy songs repeating the same few words over and over. It's a layup with fans now.
