Automatic turnoff for me
Bruh...Folks ain't checking for Lizzo cuz she sexy.Lizzo is naked on her album cover, album is also very fire too
But even those who you listing are still making songs that hit, it ain't just their looks. They have music to match. In Rihanna's case it's her music and also her make-up and sneakers and such
Bruh...Folks ain't checking for Lizzo cuz she sexy.
Lizzo naked on her album cover because she's learning to love herself. She probably spent the majority of her life hating her body and showing no one.
I didn't not say she wasn't sexy. All 5 of those acts are sexy. They aren't selling sex or selling because of their sexuality however.Says YOU, just cause she's not what you or whomever you are referencing to's quality of "sexy", it's there
That's cool but doesn't prove or disprove anything. Both can be happening
You think Cardi's music hit because she talented and the songs are good? Or Girls just love her personality, look and her rachetness?
Even SZA and Solange are sexualized (Solange actually seems like a freak and 2 of SZA's videos have her parading around in panties)...But I don't think folks are checking for them for the sexual energy.

Selling sex, most certainly. On male minds as frequently as she is because of her sexiness, without question. So you think Rihanna is selling sex or selling/popular because of her sexuality?
Selling sex, most certainly. On male minds as frequently as she is because of her sexiness, without question.
I wouldn't say we are only talking about male minds here. I was just further driving home my point. So we only talkin' about male minds? That changes the whole conversation, I'd go back to my other question of women acts that aren't frequently on our minds because of their physical appearance.

There was a post in here earlier that stated a female friend said she liked Rihanna for being "So free".
Broad brush you are painting with sir. I can only speak for myself but when I listened to SZA, Lizzo and Solange's album, it had nothing to do with sexual admiration. But men are typically going to look at any woman sexually first so that becomes a moot point

Cardi...now talk about a 6 or 7 out of 10.
Ehh...We both using a broad brush speaking for how male minds work
Those 5 artists provided aren't known for sex appeal first. And there are plenty others.Honestly if we gon talk about it, how many current women artists aren't known for the sex appeal first?
But men are typically going to look at any woman sexually first so that becomes a moot point
Rihanna has been doing more outside of her music that although her last album was 3 years ago she's put out shoes, make-up, modeling events, and more so to say she just prospering off her sex appeal means either you don't know what she's really doing or you downplaying all that she's doing
Selling sex, most certainly. On male minds as frequently as she is because of her sexiness, without question.

Rihanna is.
Her sex appeal is her main selling point though. That's her brand. Women love sexy women too. They want to be like Rihanna. Her confidence, boldness, that "Ima freak and own it" mindset. She wouldn't be able to do all that w/o putting herself out there like that. She ain't really pop off til she changed her image with that "good girl gone bad".
I think its a safe bet that most straight men aren't really checking for Rihanna's music. It is agreed that she isn't a very good singer. So for what other reason would she captivate male minds?Tell me how we both not making broad generalizations....
